Oooo! What kind of chicken laid that pretty blue speckled egg at 3:50 please?
@nicholausjamesjay83 Жыл бұрын
You mate a speckled layer with some type of blue layer. So I cross Blue Bell, Whiting True Blue, or Arucana crossed with a Welsummer.

Also, that egg isn't considered Blue, it is Green or Olive depending on the lighting.

Hi! I’ve watched a couple of your videos tonight (they are all so good!) and I remember you mentioning a website you use to send fecal samples to? I’ve rewatched a few and can’t seem to find the site!

Curious about the sand. I just got back into chickens, we raised them when I was a kid and now just got backyard chickens. When reading about grit, it (Google) said not to use sand because it can solidify in their digestive system. I love the idea of sand and how that would make the run so much easier to clean. What type of sand do you use and do you give them grit as well?
@kawaiirevolver Жыл бұрын
use medium to course grain sand so it doesn’t impact their crop. sand is great! just make sure the run stays dry, otherwise sand is absolutely pointless. grit should be given since the sand isn’t going to and shouldn’t be used as a main source of grit. i use an insoluble grit marketed towards poultry. i put it in a small separate feeder and they eat it as needed.

have a question about laying eggs. I have 5 hens and everyday I collect only 4 eggs. Someone isn't laying and I don't know which one it is. Also I was getting small, medium and large ones. But lately only small ones

Need help to figure out that i sm issue the oldest ones first. Please be nice this is my first flock of 17 hens.. maybe one is a roo. In that case if i have a roo, is there anything different about keeping and storing the eggs? Im trying to watch all your videos. Thanks in advance.. im so glad i found you 🐣🐤🐔🥚🥚❤
