This is the BEST interview with Michael Brauer I have been able to find. If he’s speaking with his assistant with him, or if he’s talking about his tech, then all we seem to get is Michael’s ego on display. But in THIS interview he’s speaking about his PERSONAL history and it’s an entirely different story. He’s much more personable and down to earth, he’s even more open and vulnerable. And who knew.. but he’s actually a really cool guy! So yeah.. GREAT interview. And now I like him 100% more than I used to. 😎👍👍

I believe this video is my reward for not bothering Michael when I spotted him quietly enjoying a hot dog 🌭 at AES . Thanks Andrew & pure mix !

This interview is such a gift. Thank you both for being so candid. I admire Michael’s persistence and faith in himself that he had something special to offer (or maybe it was just the deep love of this art). It’s a great lesson for young people that just because you’re not the right fit someone, keep trying. If you have that passion to be great and to learn and to serve, someone will take a chance on you. You both are so amazing to share all this.

This was incredibly fun! I can listen to Brauer talk all day and this one pretty much took all day! Thank you! Looking forward to the hearing loss discussion. I’ve been a drummer since the age of 6 and definitely have a solid case of tinnitus but when I mix I don’t even notice it. As Andrew and Michael said, many have issues and deny to the world they do because of the fear that it would invalidate them as engineers. In fact, because I thought my hearing was inadequate for engineering I didn’t pursue that dream for a large part of my life. However, eventually I said to hell with it and dove in head first. It has not held me back in any way. Can’t wait for part 2! Thanks again!

I love the performance connection - I had a similar experience. I loved how bass and drums gelled on a string down beat... and there was a distinct day I realised it was the engineer making that happen ... and I was like... oh I wanna be the Wizard guy

Once again getting the personal insights and the people behind the job is great to get your own viewpoints of your life experiences in perspective, strangely enough takes away some of your feelings of isolation, your not the only one feeling and thinking like you do…

I'm not sure whether to be proud or ashamed of my trivial knowledge but I was sitting there going, "Joe Rapposo". A guess - but a good guess. I can remember names I've seen on record sleeves and liner notes but not people I've met, went to school with, etc...

Hi. 🙂 Please, let us pray together. Dear God who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever in Jesus Christ's name we pray amen. 1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all that you do be done in love. Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May all suffering end as we give thanks this day. May God's face shine upon us forever on Earth as it is in Heaven in Jesus Christ's name we pray for His name and for His sake. Amen.
