Saw it live and i was so happy to see purge giving his insight. But the chat was absolutely horrible, never saw it like that. Everybody thought that purge had no idea, asking for blink and bkb and questioning pipe and telling that purge has too low mmr to coach properly. This dude is a dota legend and it felt so bad that every 2k player thought that they could analyze the game better as him.

Back in d1, Pitlord for a while had corpse explosion, that blew up nearby creep corpses one after another, until there were none left, damaging enemies and healing allies. Combining that with mek, gave pretty damn nice heals. Kept going after he died so that was fun way to get kills.

Tidehunter, my favourite offlane and i build this with pipe, blink (arcane or overwhelming is up to you), cuirras, vlads (mostly to wraith pack) for team lifesteal, halberd ( in case u met hitter hero), and guardian greaves (upgrade form mekansm and mana boots) so u could survive (aghs and shard included) 😂, this is almost like a sandbag for ur team, to make enemies waste every single spell to you, but some players build him as dmg dealer cz of his broken 3rd skill

Another one of the few heroes I played. I miss the old Tide when anchor was a passive chance to do that additional aoe damage (great animation and sound to it too) but I see they kind of brought it back with the talent

purge is someone who you should consider talking to about dota WAY more - this dude is a serious dota knowitall theorycrafter type. he will help you get the proper idea behind most heros and propel your MMR gain. pair this with the pro players youve been chatting with (and slacks for the memes :D ) youll be ancient before you know it

Tidehunter really is one of the most fun heroes in the game to play. I really think you should try Abaddon again as a core at some point. He's an incredible pos 3. You can go tanky, you can go damage, you can build aghs and focus on keeping your team alive and strong. I really miss the good old days of stealing attack speed and move speed from enemies rather than JUST slowing them. You could combo maim (removed mechanic) skadi and basher with curse of avernus and cut the enemy core's dps down 2/3rds. Then they had the bright idea to add a 25 talent to increase the strength of curse of avernus by 50% and a flat increase on the attack speed slow. It was absurd combing with skadi+shivas and sange (again the removed maim mechanic)

Grubby, I am pretty sure you are already aware but chat just trolls and I don't think most have that high mmr. Them advising blink dagger aggressively was kind of funny 😅. I don't watch purge too much but he is ranked immortal and a really good coach. Plus I think people have this stereotype or habit to see these initiators as a must blink carrier when they are actually much more flexible (as purge mentioned) also pro games are VERY different from pubs as you may well know. ITs a shame they sent you mid, Tidehunter was probably the first heroe that Ive mastered playing over and over again, always going as an offlaner. If your are interested in playing the offlane you should try with Tide, not the most complete heroe but really flexible and team oriented.

Purge's advice makes sense but not for a beginner like grubby. Grubby was too inefficient around the map and blink could have really helped him get more farm since he was so slow (no phase either). So he never really got to be a big tank boss and so he didn't really get to be in the middle of the fight, so again blink would have been helpful. If grubby had moved more efficiently there's no reason that T1 top should have stayed alive for so long. That should have been grubby's home. Grubby also let lots of people walk around him without getting a gush and anchor to the face, very pacifist gameplay. I understand purge's idea but it ended up being really hard to pull off esp since his team didn't play defensively enough.
