Purge Valve replacement 2009 GMC Acadia - Service Stability Control - Stabilitrak - Engine Power Red

Every so often, a Stability Control and Stabilitrack warning came on along with a reduced power warning. Then, about 1 month ago, every time we would fill up the gas tank, be car would not start and it would hesitate once it did. Last night...everything happened at the same time. I had already ordered the purge valve, bro this AM, I changed it and also cleaned the air intake tube and and around the throttle body flap, just with a bounty. No chemicals used...yet.
Filled up again after and car started right up! Also...no more check engine light!!

I saw this video about 6 months ago and tried to find someone to replace the part for me because my truck was doing the same thing after getting gas. I finally got someone to replace the part yesterday. Went to get gas afterwards and my truck started with no issues at all. Part was like 48.oo from AutoZone. Thanks again

I had a hard time starting my Traverse after fill ups. Luckily, I knew what the problem was...there was no check engine light on. The new part threw me off as well. Mine is a 2009. It has been fixed for about 4 months now.

justo eso me sucedió con mi acadia 2009, cuando empecé a desarmar y saque la pieza nueva para montarla PUUUM vi que no era, pero se le ocurrió desmontar el cople y quedaba perfecto con el tornillo de la válvula así que la puse y salí a rodar la acadia la sentí menos pesada al acelerar.

Joe Button ... I would clean first before replacing.... buy the TB cleaner... and keep it AWAY from AFM sensor next to the air intake filter...it should fix the issue... or delay the replacement... $6.99

Did replacing the purge sensor eliminate the squeal you said you had??? .. I had just had my spark plugs changed & now I have this awful whining noise that seems to be within the fueling system. I say this because when I hit the gas peddle the sound changes.

What codes were you getting? Right now, my Acadia has service stabilitrack/traction control. It will lose some power, but I'm able to drive maybe 50mph. I know the longer I go, the worse it'll get. I cleaned the TB and the warnings went away for 2 days then came back.

There you go!that's what's messing up your coils... at least in my case it was... I kept on changing coils... until a mechanic heard me bitching about it and told me about the gasket

i have to keep changing coils too and now my stability light is on just started when I was getting on and off exits for some reason and now it does it when sitting at red lights but its intermediate. So Im thinking I need the same part. where did you order from and if you could respond with part number that would be great.

InsomniacDreams88 I did not. h did make sure keys were not in ignition. I also had to replace the throttle body about a month later... i did disconnect the battery for that one. it was pretty easy. then o did the manual relearn procedure. purge valve and TB all done for under $110

I had a "vacuum leak" sound behind my glove box... It was the AC compressor... The condenser was leaking freon

Jose Barrera If I am correct, Throttle Body. While on that thought, so many people do not take that off and do a real good cleaning. You have to spray down the sensor with cleaner also. After a spark plug upgrade and doing this to the throttle body, its like a whole new engine.

PCV Tube is called. If you change you might change the PCV valve that come separately.

The only thing I can think of is an oil or coolant leak into the plug tubes. I had to replace spark plugs and coils due to a valve head gasket gone bad and leaking oil in there...

Rigo, for the stability control, I cleaned the throttle body control... it worked for a few months... then I had to replace it... you can buy a new one for less than$80 and reprogram yourself

Only when turned on... I did have stuttering while driving mostly when accelerating or going up a hill... But that was a different issue... It was the ignition Coils. #1,3,5 where easy to change. #2,4,6 where a bit more work bc you have to take off manifold off. My buddy also had stuttering/rhythmic vibration at specific speeds... It was his Driveshaft... That was easy fix.

thanks for the video Gustavo! i looked at my purge valve and come to find out that the tip was broken, someone tired to glue it back together. replaced mine and the check engine light went away. test drive the service stabillitrack/air bag sensor went off. im looking but do u happen to know anything else. i saw a video about replacing a sensor by the brake to possibly fix the service stibiltrack. also another vid where replacing a air bag sensor in the front would be a possibility, if the sensor is bulging out then it could be bad. thanks again. im enjoying the acadia problems. hahaha. ,

did u ever have trouble with the transmission shifting also. i thought a tuneup would work but still having issues with the tranny. had the tranny replaced bc it was under warranty. still having issues. it sucks that the transmission shift sensor is inside the tranny on a 2009.

Didn't need to test... The symptom of hard starting after refiling gas was enough evidence for me.

@@illustriuss well the problem with that is you must not be aware that a charcoal canister can also cause the exact same symptoms as your car had. This means you part swapped without testing and you “guessed” correctly. That may be great that you guessed right, but if it had been the canister, now you get to buy another part and swap that out too. This is a slippery slope because you cant just use symptoms as your guide. If your car doesn’t charge what does that mean just change alternator? Well thats 300 dollars and if you didnt do a voltage drop test or test wires first but did it based on symptoms, good luck returning the part. Do what you want, but I disagree with you. Been working on cars for twenty years and have a degree.
