I’m from the USA where are you from in the UK? My mom is from Yorkshire, grew up in Bradford. I got to go to school there when I was 6 & we lived there for a few years. I really miss it! Haven’t been to the UK since 1985 to visit my grandad he lived up in northumberland after my grandparents went back because my nanna got cancer. Anyway you remind me of myself because I love messing around in water! We have a gold fish pond in the front yard nothing fancy but it was me & my sisters hangout in summer! Still have some fish! And when I went to school in Yorkshire they had a sand pit & a water tub I was always in the water! Take care of those fantastic koi!

I'm impressed with the fact you can stand in that cold water. Not sure of water temperature here (southern Ontario Canada) as pond is completely covered in about 6" of solid ice and the air temperature this morning is - 12C although warmer weather expected later this week. I do have a 4" bottom drain on my pond which I purge weekly during pond season so thankfully not too many issues with flow into the filters. Looking forward to your next video.
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
I couldn't feel my feet the air was 3DegC and the water was heated to 9DegC an unheated pond would be about 5DegC at the moment here in UK. If it was -12DegC I wouldn't leave the house 🙂. Thanks 🙂

Adam. I used a much simpler way to purge my bottom drain to the Nexus as my system was with a retro home made bottom drain. Take the central pipe of the Nexus. Push it down in the Nexus inlet, (not too tight). The rubber ring forms a seal. Take a sink, bath plunger. Tape a longer handle to it with gaffer tape. Plunge it up and down a few times inside the pipe. Push it right down and quickly pull the whole plot upwards dragging water through. The crap i used to pull out was unbeleivable.

Hi Adam, how easy is it to make a drainage system/concrete hole for the water to flow into? I'm forever pumping water into a bucket and carrying it to a drain 10-15 metres away...

I have a pond where there is no close drain so it's difficult to purge so I use a layflat hose to run it to a drain then when i don't need it the hose fold away quite neatly.

Hi Adam great stuff as usual 👍 would you fit a 3” or 4” bottom drain to a preformed 950 or 1100 gallon tank?
@AdamJulyan3 жыл бұрын
A 1000gal could have a 3" bottom drain if your using say an easy pod and a 5000L/h pump but my 1000Gal has a 4" drain with a 10,000l/H pump it depends on what filter you want to use as a 4" really needs a minimum flow of 10,000l/h
@storm63523 жыл бұрын
@@AdamJulyan Thanks for the reply Adam learnt a lot from your channel. The plan was a qk15 plus moving bed or profi combi 15 and possibly adding a small shower with bhm in the future? Would 10000 l/h be too much flow for approx 5/6 jumbo tosai in a 5000 litre round tank?
