you're literally doin the inventive directions i'd love dark synth/ambience tracks to take in order to retain my attention rather than capture it momentarily btw, the man doesn't miss

it's so good at stopping sections right when they've served their proper amount of time, building upon intrigue from that pause with mysterious note choices to introduce the next part, before building layers upon of consistently transient vibes shifting from atmospheric and empowering, to melancholic and odd been spamming comments but its bc what i've heard so far genuinely seems like happening to be one of the first to stumble upon something bound to blow up into at least cult status, keep going

2 minutes in and love the sound for the synth, did you run different drone notes to a 4 track like the guy from nin does? sounds v familiar to that technique

For pretty much all the synthwork, but especially the drones, I'll run my keyboard through a bunch of pedals an processors: distortion, sustain, a second but different kind of distortion, reverb/delay, and phaser/chorus. The tonal combinations are limitless. Once the track is recorded, I duplicate it up to eight times, and add a slightly different effect to each (maybe a subtle echo or cathedral-style reverb). So then I've got the same part layered 8 times with minute differences. Finally, I'll put each one somewhere different in the balance. Track 1 90% to the left of the mix, track 2 70% to the left, and so on all the way to the right side. For me, this is the best way to get that rich, enveloping, layered feel.
