@Paris Urueta To be fair I think the dreamy metaphysical vibe of their music naturally leads to being too mysterious for the average listener. In that way it is amazing that they have found a dedicated group of fans. Modern Radiohead comes to mind when thinking of this style of music and nothing of their more recent albums has really made it to super mainstream either although they are such a huge name. The mystical quality of this sort of music I think transcends the average persons music listening experience being that its so introspective and conveys feelings that are very difficult to put into words let alone converse about. In the end popular things tend to be easily digestible/talked about and Purity Ring exists just outside the normal social realm enough to be super compelling to those willing to throw their albums on repeat, yet too illusive for the majority of listeners to have that breakthrough moment of wonder that I'm sure you get when listening. For me they are the perfect traveling music and encompass that "in-between" feeling life has, which I think most people don't like to stay in for an albums worth of time let alone a song's worth xD If our modern culture had different values surrounding time and the sense of needing to have definite direction in life I think Purity Ring would be immensely popular but as it stands now their musics seems to be for us drifters, dreamers and stargazers which only makes it all the more special. Perhaps one day we will be the new hipsters and stations/clubs will be blasting Begin Again as a modern anthem while we confidently state that "we loved Purity Ring long before all you kids got into it" lol Anyways that was kind of a long winded rant but I do think its interesting to think about why certain types of media don't click with the majority of people even though for us it's so heavenly. The fact that I read this comment you made 2 years ago and it struck me in a way that only Purity Ring fan can really relate to. I listen to so many amazing bands From so many different genres that make up of super talented people but somehow these two are able to make music in a way that really is indescribable. Seriously, most of the day at "work"(I'm an artist,I love it so much,I worked new construction for years) I usually listen to technical Death Metal but I have a part of quite a few of my days that are strictly for Purity Ring...I just dunno 🐌🐐🤖🔫

The word amazing doesnt quite do the spiritual representation and coding 8n this particular song. If one looks deep into the artistic language withput trying too hard they will find themselves drowned in dreams of somthing both loving and terrifying but thats the price of love any way so look on and fall in a lonely loving relationship that maybe possibly someday gratify your hearts desires. Or leave you wanting more.....
