This song! I've had it on repeat. This song has advanced to the 5th stage in record time: 1. Casual Listen - "this is cool" 2. .Relisten on purpose aka "what was the name of that song? I need it." 3. Research - Looking up the lyrics, understanding meaning 4. Memorizing - memorizing the lyrics and singing it constantly 5. Evangelization - Pushing the song onto others without mercy.

Purity Ring always has this earnest beauty to it that not a lot of other music seems to capture. It can be stark and brutally heartwrenching, it can be achingly sweet, or it can have an all-encompassing dread.; often all in the same song. If you can accept that the gorgeous, albeit weird surrealist videos for what they are and search for the message that is trying to be conveyed, you always gain something and I feel like you can grow as a person because of it. Purity Ring is just such a fun adventure that when a new song worms its way into my head, I'm never upset when it wants to stay. I only pray they tour nearby again

Are these real costumes/dolls? I figure the "fur" is computer generated but I want to see the behind the scenes.on this
@maurice44 жыл бұрын
This is just my theory but i think none of this was computer generated, but its a stop motion video of actual dolls/puppets with some form of motion interpolation on top (looks like twixtor in this case)
@thegreatzinetar4 жыл бұрын
@@maurice4 This seems true for at least a few scenes. You can tell by the warping of grass when the skeletons are laid in the forest. One leaf does a full position move in a way that's obviously interpolated. Plus, Megan is credited as a costume fabricator and there's a credit for sculptor, which keys me more onto practical sculptures and costumes. Some shots (like the yellow room) seem very CG to me however, with some sort of masked warp on the fur(?) possibly

@grey56263 жыл бұрын
"How in hell"? Well: In the last six months since you wrote that: This video racked up another hundred thousand views so would your eyelashes bat? Yet in 14 years that's still more than Grandmaster Melle Mel's video views for "M3 The New Message": kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKWtg2Nvl5KHqcU So what can we glean about views and the duration of popularity's passage? Mass media, including music is to some, merely a money making machine. Truth and poetry are rarely the sorts of wisdom those in power would wish others to glean. They're lost in realms of claiming space time and erroneous ties to money. Givin' billions of views to Sia, who thinks that misportrayin' autistics is funny. If you want popularity? Then who cares about a ring, be it from Mordor or one of purity. If on the other hand you want some pablum profits which can be licensed to the mass. Dumb it down, you can get more attention by being idiotic, flippant and crass. Some perpetuate the lie that money is time. While the truth may still be overshadowed in an underrated rhyme.

Okay so this video made me sob. Let me explain... so I was adopted when I was 5 months old. I don’t know who my birth parents are. My adopted parents look like the skeletons after their face forms and they are smiling. They look exactly like a younger picture of my parents. The reason why this made me sob is because my mom passed away in November of 19. The baby at the end of this video depicts me. Some higher being created me to be the star of my parents life. A little ball that made their life complete. Seeing that right skeleton turn into my mom hurt my heart. It’s a beautiful song by far, but my god it made me cry 😓 I miss my mom so much! “Leave me in the afterglow The dew of dying stars” 💔

I've listened to this song hundreds of times since it's release and I just have to say: This will never grow old and it takes a crazy level of musicality to make me say that. My tastes change/grow often but this one just keeps sticking around and by that standard I'm happy to name it one of the best songs of all time. I have a short list of artists that could earn that title forever and Purity Ring is definitely on that list.

Purity Ring and Stardew is absolutely on a completely different level; I second this being one of the best songs ever created.

The amount of interpretation required to explain this music video is on another fucking level.

This is insanely catchy. Very poppy, still recognizably PR. Excellent.

Here me out: I absolutely LOVE everyone's interpretation of this video. Here's mine. Rosemary Ellen Guiley is a leading expert in the metaphysical fields and has written numerous books on angels and spirit guides. Those two entities or beings on the bike are like angels or spirit guides. They are the spirit guides to the two lovers in this video. Notice in the beginning that it shows that glowing golden ball then it opens up. That is the portal to our world where, they meet the lovers. The lovers in skeletal form show that their physical existence is: 1. Temporary and 2. Nearing the end of their life. They lay down together and have a final kiss, while their spirit guides are there with them. Thus, helping them ascend to their higher spirit form (notice the couple now wearing the red robes). As Rosemary has stated, angels or spirit guides help us get to where we need to be and I think that this is a beautiful representation of that. Everything about the lyrics speaks to me of lovers. "How you move, how you knew, hold me down hold me true". A love that knows one another inside and out; so strong and true. "Meant to bleed and bloom". Meaning we are here, alive experience our mortal selves only to die and bloom into our true spiritual selves. To share that with someone is truly something special. That's my own personal interpretation of this song and video. Absolutely stunning.

Love the video and song but why is Stardew in 4k and Sinew is 1080p only.

The song gives strange vibes and makes me imagine weird stuff happening somewhere in someplace so far away yet so deep inside of me and you transformed all of that into real footage
