Purity and modesty are somewhat connected. Being pure is not just about waiting till marriage for sexual intimacy. It starts from the way we dress. If we desire or are in a relationship, our body definitely needs to be preserved well for our other half. In fact, God desires for our body to be preserved even if we are single or choose to remain single. We are all created to be beautiful in God’s image but God does not want our body to be simply shared with anyone except our spouse. That is what makes intimacy in a marriage so special. Because we reserve our body only for the enjoyment of that other person whom we have been joined by marriage to become one flesh. Of course even when a woman is dressed modestly, there will be men that still lust after them and we just let God deal with them. When God joins two persons together, they live out the true meaning of being in one flesh: to be naked in front of their spouse, to enjoy sexual intimacy together as well as create children with their body. Sex is not just simply expressing love, it is a sacred way of expressing love that is only allowed in a marriage.
