Thank you so much for this!!! Sometimes being a lefty sucks. And trying to reverse engineer a right handers method to left handed was not working for me and I ended up losing stitches or splitting/tearing my yarn. This is 1 million times bette then what I was doing before. Thank you

Hello Sue. Great question. When alternating between the knit stitch and the purl stitch in the same row you will want to make certain to move your yarn from the front of your work to the back and vice versa as needed. For example when you make a knit stitch your working yarn is in kept to the BACK of your work. Before you make a purl stitch move your working yarn between your two needles (as if it were a ship passing between a draw bridge) to the front of your work. Then your yarn is ready for you to make your purl stitches. When you are ready to change from purls to knits move your working yarn from the front of your work to the back and then make your knit stitches. This will stop you from creating accidental yarn overs. Check out this video on doing one by one ribbing (1x1 ribbing Left Handed). It will show you exactly what I am referring to. Hope this helps!

Thank you Bill. I guess I was hoping to not have to swing the yarn back & forth. Your 1x1 video was very good. That is what I have been doing! I have been learning many techniques from your videos & was trying to figure out a way to ask a difficult question. I decided to go back to the basics & watched your videos on a knit stitch & a purl stitch & made an amazing discovery!!! I was putting the working yarn under the needle first then over. As I learned, you tech over the needle then under. This solved all the other knitting questions I was trying to figure out how to ask!! With the old way, my stitches were not aligned properly for the next row. Now they are!! I guess there are many things to be learned when one goes back to basics. All the other techniques are much easier when the basics are done correctly! Thanks again for all your help! Sue

My pearl stitches get really tight and I can’t wrap it 😞 how do I stop it from getting tight
@YarnCrafts4lefties4 жыл бұрын
Usually the cause of stitches being too tight are either the yarn is being pulled too tightly or, and this is usually the issue, the new stitch is not being brought from the taper of the working needle to the body of the needle. When the stitches are not brought to the body of the needle they get smaller and tighter. Hope this helps.
