Is this similar to another Ecuador rum, El Amparo? I have that one and my first experience wasnt good until it opened up and my palate acclimated to it. Lots of canned black olives and tomato soup but also lots of cane sweetness.

I'd say El Amparo has much more olives and tomatos on it actually. And its a bit richer on the palate.
