YOO what is up everyone! in this Purple Belt v Blue Belt Rolling/Sparring Video Breakdown I talk about my rolling match with my Blue Belt friend and team mate David.. This is Gi Rolling/Sparring Video. This is a Purple Belt v Blue Belt video breakdown.
I've been a Purple Belt since 2019 and also moved out to California to train. I will be bringing Gi Rolling/Sparring Video Breakdowns to the channel on a regular basis so stay tuned for more! I'm always looking to improve and what better way to do that than to post my rolls on the internet for people to watch and dissect. What could go wrong? lol
So this roll was pretty fun because Blue Belt David is actually someone I love rolling with because he has an excellent guard game. I like training with him whenever I have any type of competition coming up because he gives me realistic looks on what people in my weight class will do when they pull guard. He also has a really well developed Triangle submission. David favors the triangle choke from the closed guard and really does a great job of trying to implement it in this roll. There are some very solid BJJ Blue Belt techniques in this video so I hope you guys enjoy it. I also really enjoy narrated jiu-jitsu videos where you can follow my train of thought during the rolling/sparring.
I also try to explore the back take and passing the guard in this video
If you have any comments leave them in the comment section and think about subscribing to the channel and hitting the notification bell so you don't miss out on any of my videos.
If anyone is in the SoCal area and wants to invite me to an open mat or class I am more than willing to come! I think it's amazing that through youtube and my jiu-jitsu I get to meet new, and interesting people and also test my jiu-jitsu game against brand new people!
I hope you guys like the video and strive to be 1% better everyday! Thanks for watching! Peace!

What a wild blue belt. Just got mine recently and I see with the striped blues that I got a LONG way to go.

Blue belt is definitely a GRIND. I think I spent about 3-4 years as one but let me tell you in my opinion it is the most important belt. You learn so much defense, and start to develop your style at blue. If you make it through blue chances are you’ll be in it for the long haul. Congrats on getting yours!

@@ursinhobjj That guy is an excellent guard player as you mentioned. Since he was playing that guard really hard, I would have let him sweep me and then see how he does it on top position with you trying to reverse it or sweep him. Very entertaining roll.

Really like your channel. Wondering if you could explain more about when you did the stand and open, you checked for what foot was on top. Wondering why? Thank you
@ursinhobjj
@ursinhobjj 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure! Sometimes I check really quickly what foot is on top because one of the ways I like to open the guard is by wedging my hand in between the bottom and top foot pushing the bottom down and away to open the closed guard lock. There are some people who play closed guard left foot over right foot so I like to check the orientation so I know what hand to use to wedge in between the feet.
