Nice purples Ana!!! I think I have more blue cactus than purple ones. But I do have a few! Like the sulcorebutia rauschii violaceadermis, some of my opuntia out door winter colors and the one on your wish list" Ubelmannia pectinifera!" I've had mine since it was about the size of a golf ball. Now it's about the size of a softball, maybe a bit larger. Funny thing about these ubelmannias is if grown from seed and never grafted they have a silver-white coating and the purple can't be seen. If grafted, they lose the silver- white coating and sport the purple color! Like mine which I think you've seen on my channel. Thanks for sharing your beautiful purple cacti Ana!! 😄👍🌵 From Morris park in the Ozarks, out to Las Vegas , have a great evening !!!!! Peace,Love,Plants!!!✌💖🌵🌸🌴💐🌲🌷🌳🌺🌿🌹

Your gynocalycium have wonderful color! Mine are quite green. Those babies are so adorable!!! I didn’t realize how many varieties present purple. Maybe it’s because the sun in your area is more intense. Thanks so much for sharing the purple varieties, now I know what to look for to add more color to my collection. 🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵💕🌸😃
@CactusCaffeine3 жыл бұрын
Yes, sunlight plus cold temperature helps bring out their colors. Some of my gymnocalycium would turn green in summer because I would put them in shade to prevent burning from the intense summer sun here. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂🌵

Hi Ana!🤗 Sorry, I'm late... What a marvelous video, with this selection of beauties! I love purple so you can tell my happiness after seeing this video🤩. That long spines Opuntia Santa Rita is crazy beautiful. I also loved the Eryosice and I think you helped me to ID one of my cactus wich is like your Neochilenia (I hope it will flower soon...to solve the mystery), thank you! By the way, I also have the Uebelmania on my wish list😅, it's so beautiful. A big hug from Spain and have a happy day!😘🌺🌵☮️💕

Initially I was wondering how you could have a purple cacti collection but now I understand haha. I’ve just a few of f them but aren’t that purple or red as they’re mostly under shade. Maybe now I’ll put a few out under partial shade first to stress them out. Your collection is beautiful.

Awe super love it!!! Love that color on a cactus. I have two of the pflanzii, same growing condition but only the other one is purple when stressed. Love those rainbow cactus and neochilenia. On the first part of my collection tour that will be on soon, you’ll see some of them are purple-black that I really really love. One of my favourite purple cactus is the opuntia santa rita. I only have 1 very small pad that I was able to saved from my santa rita that died. Feel jealous of your opuntia, so purple and big specially the one with long spines. I dont like opuntia except that santa rita. Great collection Ana. Love them 💜💜💜

I enjoyed that a lot. I agree with everything you said as to how many pretty purple ones there are. Was that planet desert that sent you the wrong one? I saw a review saying it was the wrong one and they said it changes with the sun. Now I wonder if you left a review or it happened to someone else too. Anyway, all are lovely and I remember the video when you got that prickly pear at the cactus show.
@CactusCaffeine4 жыл бұрын
You have a good memory! Yes, it was in my video when I got that opuntia cutting from CSSN. 🙂 And yes, I ordered that gymno from Planet Desert but I did not leave a review. They replaced the cactus right away and their response was quick, too.

If they are purple or if they have some green color in them, then yes, you can try to grow them in their own roots. Personally, I have not tried de-grafting one. The ones that I have all started already with roots.
