These are beautiful! Your mani lasted a really long time looking nearly perfect. Mine always end up popping off after a day or two because of using peel off basecoat lol! P.S. I just realized I need to start testing my marbles on paper too. That's why my green disappeared out of my marble before. I wish I had swatched it over all the colors like you did first to see the results!
@kindreddheart9 жыл бұрын
+Lacquer Lockdown LOL peel off base coat is not something you want to use if you hope to keep your designs/polish on for longer than one or two days. its only good for trying new styles so that way you don't have to commit or damage your nails if you don't like it, having to use remover to take it off over and over. I do my nails about 5 times before i find a design i like so i use the peel off then..lol
@LacquerLockdown9 жыл бұрын
+KC Gro Yes I know that. However since I am a blogger and I change my nails quite frequently peel off is the best solution for me as to not dry out my cuticles. That was really just a passing comment I'd probably not normally be able to maintain a mani for 5 days etc since I tend to get bored quickly :)

stunning design and I love the colors Colette! Have you ever heard of a dry marble or a drag marble? I'd love to hear /see your intake about the two different ways to water marble (without water of course lol!)
@MSLP9 жыл бұрын
+Blazeception〈3 yes, - if you search "drag marble" on my channel they should come up, or I usually file that technique in my regular Nail Art playlist. For me, I think water marbling is actually easier once I find the right polish, but it may be that I just have a lot more practice with that than with drag marbling.
@kindreddheart9 жыл бұрын
+My Simple Little Pleasures I found that the waterless marbling never comes out on my nails as it does in the videos. Must have to be a professional nail artist to do it that well or practice for hours to get it right. I have tried over and over..but gave up. I would rather do the actual water marbling, it is easier as you said. Even better if you can put 2/3/4 nails in the cup at the same time which is what i have started to do, that way i don't waste a lot of polish doing it one nail at a time.
@MSLP9 жыл бұрын
+KC Gro drag marbling is trickier than it looks a lot of the time - sometimes it seems like you have to go even faster than water marbling, because the polish won't drag right when it starts to get tacky

Hi Collette, do you have any suggestions when it comes to keeping your water at room temperature, when it's somewhat cool inside? Lately we've had cool weather, and I've tried placing my water in the sun to heat it up, which helped. But the water cooled down pretty quick, and I had a hard time continuing with my nails. Also, I had asked previously, what your thoughts are on comparing white glue vs. liquid latex. I used the tape for the first time, and it tore away the polish surrounding each nail. The nails that I used white glue came out perfect, but obviously takes much longer. Wondering if liquid latex is faster/better to use? Happy Holidays!
@MSLP9 жыл бұрын
+Christina Marshall I have a space heater in my room in the winter, so even if the rest of the house is chilly it stays an warmer temp where I do my nails. I've never had that problem with tape, but I am a convert to liquid latex - it dries a ton faster than glue does, so I use it whenever I marble or sponge now

Really gorgeous Collette! I have a question about these OPI polishes. I've been thinking about trying them, but my polish collection is becoming massive. My question is can you get these same effects with regular polishes? Like, if you just use a silver metallic polish with some jelly polishes, or highly pigmented ones. Thx!
@MSLP9 жыл бұрын
+Kattbelly I think, yes. It's a really nice silver, but I have others that are similar. And the color paints are really just very jelly jellies if that makes sense. Part of the reason I really wanted them was I never got the sheer tints when they came out and I wanted more jellies in my stash. Being in the same collection increases their chances of marbling well together, but I think you could find others that work too.

love the nails! question, is color paints similar to stamping polish or is it just regular nail polish? oh and have you ever used stamping polishes for water marbling?
@MSLP9 жыл бұрын
+Lily Sanchez they're not stamping polishes, they're a collection of jellies. I've never tried marbling with stamping polishes - I don't have many that are specifically for stamping

-These are beautiful...I hope you don't mind my saying so, but the colour scheme looks very much like the Asexual flag, and Asexual Awareness Week was 19-25 October. I also turned 45 yrs. young on the 25th. The only colour missing was white, but otherwise I was smitten with how lovely they turned out :D Your purple fantastic water marble was great too (2011).
