Black & White Swirled Water Marble | Nail Art Tutorial

So, after I did the Sparkly Blue & White marble ( • Sparkly Blue & White W... ) I wanted more spirals. So I did this manicure ... and now I want more amoebas ... which I don't think I could even make reliably since this one was an accident LOL!

►Nail polish and products used◄
-Base Coat (of your choice)
-Nina Ultra Pro - Black (available at Sallys)
-Revlon - Holographic Pearls: amzn.to/1K5MoNF
-China Glaze - White on White: amzn.to/1K5McOk
-China Glaze - Matte Magic: amzn.to/1K5M4yp
-Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat: amzn.to/1K9HQUE
-5 oz paper cup: amzn.to/1MFYfk5
-Room temperature filtered water
-Orange stick (or your choice of tool): amzn.to/1U20nmV
-(Optional) Liquid Latex: amzn.to/1JsI9JL or Tape: amzn.to/1MFXQyc
►Step-by-Step◄
-Start out with clean, dry nails and apply a base coat
-Use Black as your base color, and top with HP
-(Optional) protect around your nails with latex or tape
-In your cup of water, create a bullseye using WoW and MM
-Draw in your design with your orange stick
-Carefully dip in your nails, then clean off the surface of excess polish
-Slowly pull your nails out, remove protection if used and finish clean up
-Finish with top coat!

What tends to be the best polish for water marble? Do you ever add polish thinner to your polish? I'm wondering if that would help polish spread better. Thank you! I ❤️ your tutorials!!

+Jennifer Vale there's not really any best brand, every color is different. I do use polish thinner if necessary but it doesn't really affect the spread, more how the polish drips off the brush

I've tried to do this and the color didn't spread and it's kept going to the upper right corner of the bowl. . kmsl.. what did I do wrong. I used warm water, iced cold water, plastic and glass bowl. .

+angelicworshiper10 I always use room temperature filtered water and recommend a smaller container - the cups I use are only 5 oz

This question might have already been asked if so sorry for asking again lol but does Avon nail polish work well with the water? I know they can be very runny will that affect it?

+Caroline Sloss the only way to know for sure for any color is to try it, but I have done at least one marble with avon that worked very well. It was a while ago, I think it was a couple of green colors

Ok! so I tried doing this and the first drop went to the top right corner of my water every time. I cleaned it off, tried again, same thing. lol.. What on earth could I have done wrong? The water was straight out the faucet.

+angelicworshiper10 If the polish is sinking you may be dripping from too high - also I always use and recommend room temperature filtered water.

I've been trying to Marble for a little while now and nothing I do is working. I use lukewarm water and I've tried companies like wet n wild, OPI, Sinful Colors, and nothing works. I've even tried different water temps, still nothing. I do use tap water though, does filtered water really make it this hard?? I use orange wood sticks and different color polishes. as soon as I drop a color into the water it spreads may be about an inch and a half and then I go to put another dot In and it stays right in the center, literally right after I try to put it in its hard I can't spread or marble the colors. and I watch your videos and you take your time putting in multiple colors and you're still able to spread them around so I can't understand why even after adding just two colors its hard and right away and I can't do anything with it. Please help me!

+Jessica Wilshusen check out my water comparison video - some places tap water is OK to use but many places it is too hard and polish will not spread as well, that is why I use filtered. It also sounds like your polish may be drying pretty quickly so either work faster or find colors that dry slower

How do you keep your tooth pick from sticking to the polish when designing ? Everytime I try to design the water marble and it pulls it all apart.

Your nail polish has probably dried in your water then. Nail polish dries quicker in cool water and with such a thin layer it will probably have dried by the time you finish constructing your bullseye.
