Danielle, I'm in South Jersey, and three years ago I bought two Rockin' Deep Purples. It was a gorgeous plant, and hummingbirds were constantly sipping its nectar. Two things to know about those plants - first, they were supposed to be annuals. It has come back every year for me. I throw a couple of inches of leaves on top as a blanket for the winter, and it takes off in spring like a house on fire. The second thing to know is they get big, actually massive! Mine was close to six foot tall. Keep it pruned if you want a smaller plant, or put it at the back of the border. The hummingbirds will thank you!

I love your garden!! I love flowers and plants! I have different flowers, plants and vegetables planted in my front yard but nothing like yours. I have a green thumb which runs in my family. I love Peonies and lilac's but they won't grow in South Alabama. My brother committed suicide and I inherited a lot of his plants and fruit trees. We both we're going to start a fruit and vegetable farm and homestead but it didn't get to happen. So, I do sell some of my citrus trees but not the one's I got from him. But, I just love to watch you in your garden along with all the bouquet's you make. So, you have a blessed day and I will be watching!! Ty!

Also we are going to be very warm, so I'm hoping the ranunculus don't get harmed. They are budding but no blooms yet. The anemones started blooming a week ago and are so beautiful. I’ve never heard your Grandma’s terminology, greening up the neck” but “collaring” a bouquet is something I’ve heard many times. I had never heard of using forsythia for greenery and it’s been my go to since watching your fabulous videos! One of the reasons I love your videos is that your passion for flowers and gardening is so evident and your joy comes through! I feel that too and it does feel like “my garden club” when I watch. I do live in a mosquito zone... Literally. My house/property sits about 8 feet lower elevation than the rest of the houses on my street. And I'm convinced that every mosquito nearby flies over to our property to live out its life, simply bcuz our property is cooler & heavily shaded. So from the end of March thru October my yard is a heavily populated mosquito zone! And I have zero water sitting around, I am always making sure of that! And I let my soil get very dry too. It is only dry on the top surface, but I don't want to give them a place to spend the night!! Yet, they seem to find places to do just that... In the past I have tried all the things, all the gimmicks. Nothing works. But I haven't tried the one you mentioned! So yes, I'm very interested in your results!! I now wear a wide brim garden hat with mosquito netting over my face. (they're always trying to fly in my eyes!!) I wear long, lightweight pants. Long sleeve shirts, the kind that cover your hands with thumbholes bcuz those mosquitos love to bite the tops of my hands! When I wash my clothes, I add Peppermint oil to the rinse, which does help a tiny bit. When I'm going to be working in one spot for more than a few minutes, I set up a large fan which blows a good breeze on me. That is my best defense! WIND ! Our mosquitos even bite me thru my clothes. They prolly do that everywhere! But it never ceases to amaze me! It's too hot over here to wear heavy clothing. Wearing lightweight, baggy, long sleeves & long pants is bad enough! And during the very hot Summer months I can only work outside during the morning hours. The mosquitos run my gardening schedule! But I'll never give up!! Oh, and just a side note- The months of October thru March are idyllic over here!! No mosquitos, most Winter temperatures are very pleasant, until February when we get about one month of super cold weather. And then the first few weeks in March it warms up & is nice until the flying biters show up! I think if my Winters were cold and snowy, and my Summers full of mosquitos, I wouldn't want to live here! But since our Winter is quite nice, and we often wear shorts outside with no mosquitos, then I put up with the biters during the hot months. I'm looking forward to your mosquito gadget results!

Danielle your garden is SO BEAUTIFUL! Your bouquet is so lovely. Mine are not that elaborate but I do also add greenery and sometimes hosta leaves to mine. We have had many florists do demonstrations at my garden club and they do the same thing you do….hide their mechanics or stems with greenery. The weather in central Illinois has been weird too. It started out as a lovely cool spring….then we had a week of high 90’s…..then back to spring temps and next week 90’s again! Crazy. Your hummers will love, love that salvia. They also like “ Black and Blue” salvia which I am sure this one is a spin off from. Mosquitoes love me too! I am using a spray made from different Doterra essential oils this year. Terra shield with eucalyptus and some other oils added. So far it’s kept the knats from biting me. Have a great week!

Your videos are always so calming and a great way to start my day. Your bouquets are always works of art! Beautiful Flowers and your bouquet is stunning. & absolutely worthy of a bride. Your garden is magical.. I love it all. I have hummingbirds that visit my nectar filled feeders while my hanging baskets and ground perennials are playing catchup from this weather in Michigan 5b. I do have to comment on the pesky mosquitoes & gnat looking rascals. I was outside all lday and bight Saturday..in the sun and dirt. I am covered from them both picking on me. Sprays & Foggers work for a while but I like the hummingbirds and butterflies and bees that visit everything when in bloom. I had never heard of the mosquito catcher that size, so will have to do some digging Thanks for sharing. love this video. I hope the baby yshower was a success.
