They could just make the Copper Bulb have different delays for weathering stages. So the clean one would have a 0 tick delay, then 1 tick, then 2, then 3. They can all be waxed so it still works.

Copper irl is not more conducive then gold. The reason copper is used more is because it is more abundant then gold. Gold is used for for electronics because the lack of resistance it provides. Gold has more electron covalence bonds then copper. Change the normal power rail to copper and make faster rails as gold.

@ with my electrical knowledge it would make sense to make the copper rails would have the current speed of the power rails now, then increase the speed of current powered rails by so that the longer you travel on them the faster you go, up to a max speed. It would bring back people designing roller coasters.

Copper IS a better conductor. Copper has a resistivity of 1.77 × 10^-8 ohm-m, and gold has a resistivity of 2.44 × 10^−8 ohm-m. This tells us that under normal circumstances, copper makes a better conductor. The only reason people seem to think that gold is more conductive is due to the fact that despite it being a slightly worse conductor, it corrodes less and therefore makes a better contact for things like audio cables and adanced electronics which require a reliable conduction of current to capture the full audio spectrum (including weaker signals), and allow for constant internal resistance within a component over its lifetime to maintain its original functionality.

When making 20hz note block songs, I needed to use player direct input to make the piston 3 tick input continue after more repeaters; getting a 1 tick offset. I figure that the 3 tick delay is rounded to 4 by any timed redstone block in either case. I only put that together now, and I recall being confused when needing to delay the repeater only line instead of the piston line. I've moved on to leaves and observers anyway, not that I'm active with it rn.

I thought for sure you would suggest 1. increasing the piston push limit. 2. Another welcome change would be double, triple, quadruple piston extension built in into the piston/sticky piston. It could work like how you tune noteblocks to the correct note, you'd tune the pistons for the desired extension. 3. And if you're going for upside down walls and redstone torches, why not upside down hoppers. Right now, a vertical tower of hoppers can transport items from the top to the bottom, upside down hoppers would take it from the bottom to the top. 4. Dispensers placing down tree saplings, chorus fruit etc. 5. Just silent droppers and dispensers. 6. Right now, it's possible through datapacks, but redstone dust indicating the power level.

Slight correction about the input bug: repeaters don't lose a tick of delay when powered directly by a player. It's the other way around: pistons wait a tick before extending/retracting when activated/deactivated directly by a player (or by a block that was moved by another piston (and not spat out by a sticky piston)). Common misconception.

I’m gonna be honest. Played with bundles for couple of years now due to mods and such. They are completely useless after first 2-3h after you choose a place for a base. They are also insanely annoying in every single iteration including final one. And they are a constant disappointment when you find a non stackable item and need to remind yourself that bundles can only store one of those

Adding to the lava logging thing, for glass panes in particular, what if we had water logging based off the cardinal and intercardinal directions for panes? So if you have a pane that's in cross form, you can partially fill the pane. It could also enable half panes to be waterlogged on one side and not on the other.

Also, with your copper rail idea, I think it would be interesting if, as the copper oxidized, the rails would get slower and slower. 2 things you didn't mention: 1. Remove torch burn-out There is no reason for it. The torch works fine to begin win but then randomly burns out if you clock it too fast for too long. The game runs at 10 redstone ticks per second anyways, making things capable of running anywhere close to that 10 Hz is pretty much impossible currently. Having the freedom of using redstone torches and all their properties in high-speed builds would be massive. 2. Remove the random delay and hold on redstone lamps Many computational redstoners use trapdoors instead of lamps for displays because the trapdoors react instantly and don't hold their state after de-powering for some arbitrary amount of time. Just make lamps work like every other component.

I am personally not a fan of soft inversion, because I think it's a weirdly inconsistent feature and has the potential to be confusing. That is: Currently, on Java, torches turn off when the block they're mounted on is powered (therefore it must be a conductive block). They do *not* turn off when the block they're mounted on is activated (i.e. a noteblock next to a power source). I think if soft inversion were added as a feature, it would further muddy the difference between powering a block and activating it. God knows there's enough confusion about "hard" and "soft" power (which is a practically meaningless distinction anyway). That being said, I'd be open to soft inversion on *all* redstone components that torches can be mounted on. I mean, droppers and dispensers would be way better than pistons for this anyway, since they're affected by QC but won't extend annoyingly. That being said, "all redstone components" is a huge number of blocks and it might very well break things. Maybe "all nonconductive redstone components" would be fine, since mounting a torch on a nonconductive block currently doesn't do anything, so no one is relying on the current behavior.

gold is actually more conductive than copper, and obviously more expensive. gold is used to connect the silicon in chips to the pins on the outside. also I'm conflicted about copper rails being faster. on one hand, backwards compatibility, on the other with copper being so abundant, and if oxidisation lowers the top speed, gold rails would become useless. I propose gold rails be faster than copper, and the speed is linked to the inputted signal strength, also that signal strength can be read out by a repeater, thus allowing for signal strength to be sent long distances easier.

Gold is more expensive than copper and seems more intuitive to be the premium faster rail. So what about backwards compatibility? It may be a bit of an over engineered solution, but I propose something similar to what Mojang did for the 1.18 update. When updating an older world to the newer version, a screen pops up and warns you that the world depth is increased and the old bedrock layer will be converted into deepslate. Similarly, a screen could pop up warning players of the changes to mine carts and rails, and asks them if they wish to convert existing gold rails into the copper rails with the equivalent speed. That way, it's the player's choice if they want to preserve their existing infrastructure, or upgrade it. Edit: Was corrected that copper is more conductive than gold
