I am considered end stage at 43 years old. I am thankful for these videos. I am also thankful for the internet where I can understand why I need to do these exercises. Unfortunately, at the hospital, I did not get any type of education about what was wrong with me. Doctors like to mock us for Googling but it is because of the lack of education and proper healthcare that people are forced to turn to Google for understanding.

Long ago, I lost my cat due to respiratory issues and now my mother has asthma. Her lungs are 30% damaged and at times it is extremely difficult for her to breathe. I really wish there was anything I could do. I request everyone to please pray for her because she means the world to me. 🙏

Inhale slowly through your nose for 2 counts. Feel your belly get larger as you breathe in. Pucker your lips, as if you were going to whistle or blow out a candle. Exhale slowly through your lips for 4 or more counts.

What to do if we are breathing through mouth while sleeping? I always wake up with dry throat and crusty lip, it tells me that my mouth was open the entire time I slept.
@OwnedByACatNamedC.C.

That could be an indication of sleep apnea. If it’s caused by nasal congestion at night as it was in my case, nasal strips can be quite helpful along with an OTC saline nasal spray for dry nasal passages; but you should tell your doctor about your symptoms in any case. He may order a sleep test for you. My friend did this and found out that sleep apnea is the cause of her snoring and open mouth breathing. In fact, hers is so severe she has to use a CPAP machine at night. I’m not a medical professional, but I’m pretty sure those steps are what a doctor would advise..

Some people tape their mouths shut before going to sleep! Breathing through your nose causes you to have better blood circulation.

Chiming in here. For me, it's easier to take deeper breaths on an empty stomach (or at least an hour or so after eating). In the video, they said to use this exercise if/when having problems breathing.

Exhaling through pursed lips creates back pressure and helps you exhale trapper air. Inhaling through your nose is best. Your nose warms, humidifies and filters your inspired air

@@jessicamccauley7620 Thank you for the 2 accurate answers above. It is a backflow of pressure from the purse lips that opens app the bronchials, thereby letting more oxygen and a registered nurse vacalorate in nursing. Visual science and nursing of University. This is extremely helpful and should they talk to all long patients. I apologize for American medicine that doesn't do. The teaching they should do, we Used to also be sure you're inhalers are not expired. They have a life of about 3 months. I think most of them do read the directions. There are excellent videos on how to properly using an hailer which I guess frequently isn't taught either. V. They will and try to keep your emotions controlled or delivered up to the good Lord or something also helps of breathing blessings on all of you. Also, research allergens in your homes. And it's not conspiracy theory to recognize that there's a lot of junk that we're breathing in blessings to all of you. I hope you all have a lot of prayer in your life, and i'd like to suggest something called prayer blaster. It's of you, it's online, you put a prayer blaster online and a whole bunch of purchains of information pops up. You can get hundreds of people praying for you in 15 minutes if you use coffee and taste Hallelujah. That should be copy and paste, put your prayer request in copy, and paste it, and put it it for the dent to a different prayer Chain heavenly love to all

Its great ! However, Ive got one problem , which is the slowness of her explanation ( even tho its only 2 and a half min ). A person who is experiencing shortness of breath watching this and it not helping who has to call 911 might not have the time ,you you could have just told us the main points without slowly retelling smaller points with more and more detail .( this is something simply used for artificially extending a point for no apparent reason in this case . Naturally , this is not always pointless and is necessary for more complex topics and instructions )

I don't think they intended for people to refer to this video during an emergency situation. It's something you learn about BEFORE an emergency to practice and prepare for an emergency. A person struggling with breathing and not responding to rescue inhalers will still need to find a way to breath until emergency services arrive.
