C-37's incident report: "On Saturday, June 22, 2024, at approximately 11:40 PM I, Trooper Carter Lazenby, was patrolling SH 18 near Big Lake when I observed a white Crysler 300 traveling west bound. I activated my radar and received a reading of 68-mph in a 60-mph zone. I activated my emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop on SH 18, near Big Lake. I made contact with the driver, identified as Jayden Culp, and advised him of who I was, who I worked for, and the reason for the stop. I asked Culp for his driver's license, proof of insurance, and registration. Culp proceeded to inform me that he had just been fired from his job and that his tags were expired. During this time, I observed the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. I asked Culp if there were any illegal drugs inside of the vehicle, at which time Culp produced a small red Swisher Sweets bag containing a small amount of marijuana. I observed Culp to be overly nervous, rapidly tapping his leg after asking him to shut his car off. I seized the marijuana and asked Culp to step out of the vehicle to conduct a probable cause search. At this time, Culp nervously started his vehicle back up and turned his head lights off. I instructed Culp to turn his vehicle off, but he accelerated off, fleeing west on SH 18. I returned to my patrol unit and began to give chase. Culp quickly reached speeds in excess of 100-miles per hour, passing two vehicles. As Culp neared Big Lake, he reached speeds of 145- miles per hour, but slowed to 120- miles per hour, negotiating the curve. I was able to move in and perform a successful Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), causing Culp to leave the right side of the roadway, traveling into a near by field. Culp was then taken into custody without further incident and after being checked out on scene by Emerson Ambulance Service, he was transported to the Mississippi County Sheriff’ Department where he was charged accordingly. Once at the jail, Culp was read his DWI advise of rights and agreed to give a urine sample to be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for analysis."

Some of them are smarter than others, hands up and follows commands. Still a seriously poor decision to run, so this aint a rocket surgeon being 'picked on' by the po po. I have to put this state on my vacation list, bucket list item is to see one of these dingle berries blow by me on the interstate... and 15 min later I roll by the crumpled mess of what was a car... and to see an ASP trooper with a grin. These guys have the absolute best job in law enforcement, bonking fools off the road and getting paid?! That's a dream job - stay in school and leave the drugs alone kids, if you can graduate gr12 and not be a criminal, you too could do this job. It would be more fun to bounce criminals than to BE a criminal. Thanks ASP for providing endless entertainment every single week.

Once again, protocol needs to change. As I've said many times, when a backup/support unit shows up for assistance,, they should pull in front of the suspected vehicle to prevent runaway.
