Pursuit/TVI Baseline/Lawson Little Rock Arkansas State Police Troop A, Traffic Series Ep. 1053

Trp. Crossland's incident report: "On 7/5/25, at approximately 01:00 hours, I was patrolling the area of the South Service Rd and Scott Hamilton when I observed a green Dodge Charger with bright white after market running lights. Sgt. Monroe pursued a green Scat Pack Charger with the same lights and an unreadable paper tag and a after market tail light that said "Scat Pack" previously in the shift that he was unable to catch. I got behind the vehicle as it travelled South onto Scott Hamilton and observed it to have an unreadable paper tag. Even though I was directly behind the vehicle, the paper and plastic were wrinkled causing it to be unreadable and the tag light was bright to the point it made the majority of the tag illegible other than the word "July". The vehicle also had the same after market tail light that said "Scat Pack" that Sgt Monroe had described on the vehicle he chased. I initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection at of Scott Hamilton and Baseline. The vehicle immediately began fleeing West bound on Baseline, reaching speeds of 140mph. At the intersection of Baseline and Stanton road, the vehicle turned off its lights as it was fleeing to attempt to evade detection. The pursuit continued West on Baseline until we reached the intersection of Baseline and Colonel Miller. While on Baseline, the vehicle drove recklessly into the oncoming traffic lanes, ran numerous red lights, passed cars in the turn lane and reached speeds of approximately 140mph. Once we reached the intersection of Colonel Miller, the vehicle began travelling East bound. While on Colonel Miller, the vehicle reached speeds of approximately 110mph. At the intersection of Crystal Valley, the vehicle turned North. As we were turning, I attempted to a TVI on the vehicle. The vehicle drove out of it and continued North on Crystal Valley. During the TVI, I sustained minor disabling damage to my unit and was unable to continue the pursuit. Trooper Anthony Goins located the vehicle at Colonel Glenn and Bowman and was able to conduct a successful TVI. The suspect, later identified as Tylawrence Thomas, fled on foot and was taken into custody in a near by parking lot. An unknown passenger fled the scene on foot and was not located. Thomas was taken into custody Sgt. Monroe and mirandized on scene. See report number 202412475ASP for further. A search of the vehicle yielded a Glock 19C with an switch on the rear plate to allow it to have fully automatic capabilities. The vehicle was also confirmed stolen out of Conway Police Dept. Thomas was transported to Baptist Hospital to be medically evaluated and was cleared by hospital staff. He was then transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center where he was booked on the charges of: -27-14-716: IMPROPER DISPLAY OF LICENSE TAGS -5-54-125(d)(4): FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY -5-54-125(d)(3) 2023: FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - SUBSTANTIAL DANGER OF DEATH -5-13-201: BATTERY - 1ST DEGREE -5-13-201: BATTERY - 1ST DEGREE -5-13-202: BATTERY - 2ND DEGREE -5-36-106(e)(1): THEFT BY RECEIVING >= $25,000 -5-73-211: PERPETRATING A CRIME W/MACHINE GUN5-73-211: PERPETRATING A CRIME W/MACHINE GUN -27-50-302(a)(2): RECKLESS DRIVING -5-73-104(c): CRIMINAL USE OF PROHIBITED WEAPONS - BOMB - MACHINE GUN - FIREARM ADAPTED FOR SILENT DISCHARGE -5-54-125(c): FLEEING - ON FOOT -27-37-702: NO SEATBELT -27-50-302(a)(7): SPEEDING - MORE THAN 15 MPH OVER LIMIT -27-50-302(a)(7): SPEEDING - MORE THAN 15 MPH OVER LIMIT -27-50-302(a)(2): RECKLESS DRIVING While at the Jail, I spoke with Thomas about the incident. He stated he ran because he was scared. He stated he knew the gun was in the vehicle and that he understood the functions of the switch on the pistol and the repercussions that came with being in possession of it. Thomas then stated the gun was not his, but he understood the pistol was in his possession at the time of the arrest. The firearm was submitted into evidence to be sent to the state crime lab. Asher Wrecker took possession of the vehicle. No further action was taken."

Wow, this one had some team work!! That charger stirred up a hornets nest of LEO's and he definitely got stung! I think I even saw LRPD officer "the Mustache" walking around. Trooper Monroe must have the SRT Charger because he flew by the other trooper and just left him in the dark. Great timing on Trooper Goins being in the right place at the right time!!! Formerly trooper Nathan Williams Unit where in several chases such as this one, he struggled with the TVI with the vehicle getting stuck on the push bumper. Ive also seen former Trooper McCord use this vehicle in one of her chases last year, a vehicle pulled out infront of her and she almost wrecked out but amazingly regained control, interestingly enough trp Glover had Trooper McCords unit too so it appears both of the patrol cars McCord operated are now out of service.

I saw this chase in person. The family appeared okay and were out and walking around. The car was totaled and in the ditch and the police car was also pretty torn up. Not sure what happened to the officer but there’s dashcam footage where he is yelling and everything after the wreck. He didn’t appear to be injured in any way but I couldn’t tell which trooper he was when we drove by.
