Push net for shrimp & perch No more expensive bait stand trips. Complete DIY 10 min build

2x2x8 feet
1x2x8 feet
x2 threaded 1/2in bolts
X2 wing nuts with x4 washer & x1 locking washer
Min 4x4 netting
20 feet nylon rope

Hey guys nice vid, My two cents, make a bag net on the frame, use a cross handle for a belly board and make a through stick not bolt on, one more thing! Lace the net not staple they rust out right quick. Keep em coming guys

@@TridentFishing yes cheers for mentioning. I had looked at comments and read your feedback on this to someone else. I’ve left drilling the top/higher hole until net on timber ready, which it is now. Bit short on one side when I threaded through netting, 2”, no problem. Cheers Paul Jersey C.I.

Great video guys but you attached the wooden slats with the netting the wrong way up. The way you have it the rope, netting and fencing nails will be pushed along the sand and will wear very quickly. If you turn it over the wood will be on the sand and will take all the wear instead of the other way around. A 4’ piece of wood is cheaper to replace than all the other stuff.

Why did you cut a foot off each end of the 2x2 and not just one cut of 2 feet from one end leaving a more useful piece of scrap wood?

you can catch shrimp year around for personal use , commercial fisherman or people wanting to sell it have there own rules , but for personal ... Personal use: No more than 100 pounds of shrimp (in their natural state with heads attached) per day may be taken

Nice rig guys. Question: You don't seem to be laboring, how easy is it to push? Also, does the bottom board need to drag the bottom? I was wondering how it would work with small plastic wheels on each end to raise the board maybe a half inch. Maybe another route would be to build a 2x2 U frame with (plastic side wheels), and use seine weights on the bottom of the net. Thanks

i think you could add wheels but they would would prob rust out pretty quickly,,, its made of wood and it floats so its not to hard tp puch and yes you wana drag the bottom as much as your able to , i would say its not harder than throwing the cast net for the same amount of time , it get heavy with grass and thats when you have to dump it to start over

in hind site i wouldn't have cut the net as much to leave more of a pocket, but it still worked i think the whole in 3/8th
