average heartrate 137 while running 7 miles at 5:30 pace. no big deal.

@@LinkletterRory Not quite sure how you did it- I was just finishing up an easy 13km and it was already close to 30 degrees! You were only just starting I think.

Think I first heard of you in a vide where Ryan Hall (a childhood hero of mine) was talking about how he found the idea for one of your workouts by emulating the "eureka-inducing" techniques of Thomas Edison, it was really cool to see some of that nuance on display again here Great workouts and good luck with the rest of the buildup!!

I'm rooting for you and Bekele in the Marathon. Grijalva and Almgren on track and Kejelcha and other Ethiopians as well. Oh, and let's not forget Geordie Beamish with the ability to kick. Hope you beat your American BYU brothers even if they are really fit. And hey, everyone loves Mondo, your fellow Puma brother.

Ps. Do you use Polar, Suunto, Coros or Garmin? Would love to see a Canadian athlete repping a Finnish brand haha.

I've heard somewhere that there's lot of capillary beds close to the skin in the scalp. So keeping your head cool is kinda important. Shame for the gorgeous hair, Rory.

Big fan. I always watch everything. Serious question: Why didn't you run half those 800s the other direction? Half clockwise, half counter. Most people say it offends everyone else (I guess this means us watching) or they just say they've never thought of it..... but I'm asking one of the runners I respect most (and Ryan could be the coach I respect most) why you don't run clockwise.
@LinkletterRory3 ай бұрын
Usually it’s respect to others on the track, can be a bit dangerous. But I didn’t think this was enough volume to justify flipping.
@brianway42403 ай бұрын
@@LinkletterRory That's what always confuses me. The other runners is a common answer but it's rare in videos such as this to see anyone else on the track. You know NAZ. There are many videos of them out there with no one else in sight. I think OAC uses a track nobody else is allowed to since no one is ever there and it's not a track often seen in Boulder videos. Ingebritsen seems to have exclusive access too. Maybe he pays somebody. His much-watchef Flagstaff workout was on a deserted track - not the recognizable NAU facility. Although his posse was 7 or 8 people, a total of 1 ran during filming. Yet, all running in all of the above is counter-clockwise. So it's not other runnesr. That just can't be it. The only other guy that day you were there was running with you. Anyway, I have a lot respect for what you're doing, for Ryan, and for this series. I'm rooting for 2 guys in Paris: you and Clayton. And Emily in the women's race.

is 137 heartrate harder for you than easy run HR? seems like easy run effort for me…?
@LinkletterRory3 ай бұрын
My average HR on an easy run is in the mid to low 120s. So 137 is a decent jump up.
