I watched your video over and over again and in large It’s been a big help I can’t get the Y bridge in under the turbo. It keeps hitting the turbo everywhere and I’m worried I’m roughing up the studs down below. Pusher Y bridge and LLY motor
@xtrodinaryduramax80107 ай бұрын
Glad to see it's mostly been a great help! Try putting some vasoline on the gasket for it. Not a ton, just enough to lube it so it moves freely on the intake manifold. Hold it down with one hand and tighten up the nuts studs. I remember having a hard time as well, and that's what I did. The bottom nuts/bolts seem to pull the Y bridge into place.

Yes, they even two day expressed it here. The bolts in the back on top don’t seem as difficult for mine because wider butshorter on top. The biggest problem by far is the coolant line that runs behind.The ybridge on the LLY. I had to bend it up and now I will have to bend it back down to connect with that 90° coolant hose. It looks a little different on yours. But anyway, thanks again for posting the video. I just installed this kit on my 2008 LMM when I replaced my turbo. I installed this y-bridge and then my new turbo. Unfortunately the turbo has to come out to get this y-bridge back out. The y-bridge bolt on the top passenger side is up against the turbo housing. What a pain in the arse.

Sure was! I went to the hardware store and bought a shorter bolt. If you notice there is like a guide tit on the end of the factory bolt that makes it too long to remove with the turbo in. I have a shorter bolt with one less tread on it. Worked great! I really do love this kit. I think it has worked out great in the past few years I've had it installed.

Also have all new coolant lines, fuel lines, hot and cold side intercooler lines, pressure relief on the fuel rail, aluminum radiator - think that's it for this session. Bought a blocker plate for the passenger side up pipe, will eventually pull it off and weld a cap on it. Xtrodinary Duramax makes a good video. It was actually helpful showing bolts etc. I don't understand how that upper y bridge bolt was too long. I've got the computer side taken care of, still am not real sure about what to do with all the unplugged sensors. Do you just leave them unplugged and tape them off ? Saw you posted 5 months ago, hope it went well.

I'm having trouble getting new Y bridge to suck down in. Almost like the gasket things are too stiff to compress. Goes almost far enough but not enough to get top bolts in.

Try putting just a little vaseline on the gasket. Then getting all bolts started. Then tighten down the bottoms first while holding down the Y Bridge with your other hand. That's how I did mine and it fell into place.

@@xtrodinaryduramax8010 After many wasted hours, the cheap Y bridge I got wasn't spaced right to fit all the way down in, the bolt holes were off a little bit, I'm returning it. A recent review said it worked for his LMM. So had to order a different one. The Pusher Bridge practically dropped right in. That 1 piece is a pain to get at the bolts though. The pipe that came with the cheap kit is virtually identical to the Pusher pipe though. Seem like they're interchangeable. The cheap kit would have been $150 cuz there was some shipping damage to the paint and I got em to knock off $75. OH well the Pusher is better in the long run

@@cadeneby5186 It was so cheap I almost had to try. Then I got it and paint was messed up. Like they wrapped it up when paint was still wet...looked terrible. The inside of the pipe was filthy from fabrication. The slots for Ybridge screws were a bad angle and just didn't work. Got it close, but no way no how. Sent pics and they returned like 50% of the money or something. So I thought it was a Jackpot. Think I was down to $150 or something. But it just wouldn't fit. Pipe was fine with a sand and repaint. But bridge just didn't fit. I returned it and got a Pusher...the pipe was IDENTICAL from cheap kit and pusher...I mean it appeared to be the same part in both kits. But the Pusher bridge is a high flow design. I had the Pusher in and 4 screws in like in 5min or something

@xtrodinaryduramax80104 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt say huge changes. The turbo is a little louder. It does seem to accelerate faster, with and without a trailer/load. Its definitely lighter pulling out all the EGR related stuff. And the piping is much more efficient. I do feel the truck is stronger I general. I also have piece of mind with getting the GM y-bridge out. It can be a leak point after deleting the truck as the y-bridge is a two piece that is just pressed in together and only held in with two o rings.
