I am new to the channel and have worked my way through the Dozer build series. Here in Texas every ranch has a 450 JD or a D4. They are solid machines, but they do not like to sit around for long periods of time. I know you have put a lot of work into it, but I promise you. That Dozer will still be pushing dirt long after the new electronics driven ones are on the scrap heap... it will be worth every penny you put into it.

I appreciate you stopping by! I plan to have this dozer for a very long time, maybe the rest of my life. They are great. I do feel bad it has to sit out in the rain but she will have a roof to live under when I get to build and equipment shed. They are very popular here in WV too. I pass 3 of them just on my mountain. Almost every farm has one, its amazing.

My former neighbor had a similar jd 450. That guy made his whole career on that one machine. Obviously, multiple make overs on the machine through out the years. The machine still out lasted the operator. He can barely move and the machine can still push dirt.

I'm sure the right side steering just needs to be adjusted. It was common for the pre oil steering clutches to go out of adjustment on the right side for some reason.

Looks like fun. I wonder if rippers were/are available for those dozers.
@kirkpalmer17093 ай бұрын
Yes rippers are very common on these, at least out west. On the eastern side of the country it doesn't seem like rippers are on anything even where they're obviously needed.
@spankranchgarage3 ай бұрын
Yeah they seem uncommon here for whatever reason. Even a decent root rake for the blade would make busting up this clay a lot easier
@kirkpalmer17093 ай бұрын
@@spankranchgarage Well the best you can do with what you have is to tilt the blade as far as it will go and use the corner of the cutting edge to cut into the ground.

you gonna place any berms or water control up hill of the house? water control off a hill/mtn can get serious. GoPro effect could also be in full swing masking any grading you added to the carved out section

I might not of ex[plained it well. I want to lower and level the front of the house, and use that material to bring up the back of the house.
