My wife and I sailed the Sea of Cortez in 2001/02 and the bees were active them. We would set out a pie pan with water and place a sponge in the center so most could get a drink with out drowning. At sundown they left, at sunrise they were back. We never heard of anyone being stung. Just part of the wildlife in that part of Mexico.

It was so good to see you Linh, Teal, & Emma. I heard a dog barking in the background while Teal was talking about the other boats in anchor. Was it Compass? The bees were terrible. I guess there's more to bees than flowers. I loved how Emma is learning to drive a boat & read the gauges (?) on your dash board. I love seeing your maps. She is so blessed to have parents like you & Teal. Very proud of her. Love those beautiful sunsets you see. I enjoyed this video & seeing what you see. So beautiful. I liked that lime spinnaker more with Teal in front of it, the blue sky & the blue water behind it. Would make a great color scheme for my planters. hehe Have a good week!

As usual a great video. You hit all the anchorages that my wife, Bobbi, and I been to on our boat, Sea Dancer, when we were in from 2013 to 2017. We always enjoyed Bahia Candeleros when we stopped there, but our last night there the wind coming out of the canyon at 40 knots, but stayed fairly smooth with a short one foot chop. Puerto Ballandra on Isla Carmen was one of our favorites (alone with Isla Coronado) in the Sea. We never had a bee problem at Ballandra, but did at Coronado once. We found that putting a bowl of water on the bow kept all the bees there and you could enjoy yourself in the cockpit. Thanks for the memories.

For years I've been a big fan of 2 sailing channels: Gone with the Wynns and RAN Sailing. The RAN family sold their monohull and are in Sweeden living on a farm and building their own boat, which will take around 5 years. The Wynns also sold their catamaran and for the next 2 years will be overseeing the building of their new catamaran. I like sailing adventures so I've been searching KZbin for a channel where they actually go out to sea. I think I found it. I just subscribed and look forward to watching your previous videos plus the newer ones. Cheers!

Another very interesting video and thanks for sharing information on the temperatures. Since you guys always look cool, calm and collected it’s hard to believe that it is that hot. I am guessing those extreme temperatures and the wind is rough on Bask’s paint and canvas. Have you guys considered using a portable air conditioner on occasion? Maybe while cooking or to cool the boat a little in the evening. I’m wondering if your solar setup could run a smaller unit for short periods of time.

@OnboardLifestyle

After our Battle Born Battery upgrade we have been using more and more electric cooking. We will always keep the propane stove/oven in the galley for certain recipes (baking and broiling) and for a backup if we have an induction cooktop failure. Before Lithium our propane tank would need to be replaced every 4-5 weeks, and now every 4-5 months.

Solution for your bee and bug problem. Just put up a couple of No Trespassing signs. Surely that would work. Although I suppose there is the possibility that the bees and bugs there can't read English, so you might have to go with "Prohibido el paso". Hope that helps. 🙄

Gotta love, " summer is officially here".. well here in FL, it's over and the kiddies are back in school... Labor day weekend is here now. Great time to go places as there is no lines, hotels are cheap, and even the rental cars companies are almost respectable, "almost". They're still gauging.. But for the next month or so if,,,it's travel time.. So looking around, that area seems to be all the same. Above water. Is there snorkeling or a reef? How about the fishing?? Enjoy the sunsets...

We have the portable RainMan watermaker that has a hose with sea strainer that you deploy over the side. We have tried to use it underway with an attached weight to keep it below the surface but it did not work well. At anchor it is fast and easy and can make around 42 gallons per hour. We can top off our tanks quickly every 5-6 days.

It seems to me to make more sense to use the system that allows them to instantly picture in their head what the depth is rather than the one that has to be converted taking valuable time just because "everyone else" uses it. I can easily understand the metric system and appreciate the logic of it, but I've been using our system for 68 years and it's the only one I can think in which makes it by far the safer one to use.

@daveamies5031 2 жыл бұрын
@@genewaddlerandomstuff2122 I would counter that its better to learn to picture in your head (by practicing) the units that the majority of charts use rather than sticking to the units used on the charts for 1-3 countries (not sure about the other 2 countries that don't use metric if they use fathoms or some other obscure measurement). In my view having to convert units should be reserved for the 3 countries and you should know by heart how deep a meter.
