The Railway Heritage Trail in Perth Hills is ~41km in distance and last weekend I decided push the boundaries and tackle it. Whilst hiking the trail I also discuss my thoughts on getting out of your comfort zone.

Josh , mate, legend. You are an inspiration man. The haunting piano you use is amazing, as is your brief moments of openness. Your work has been significant in me sorting my life out. Respect🙏🏼❤️

Thanks for these videos Josh. Hiking for me certainly is way to rapidly gain some perspective and bring my life back into balance. I enjoy watching your videos because it reminds me of this and inspires me to go and make it happen.

Can’t agree more. There’s something about being out there that makes you realise your problems are all largely insignificant in the big scheme of things. Cheers for watching!

Loved your clip. thanks for sharing. I admire your honesty. I definitely am looking at starting to do hikes but for the moment, im too scared to go on my own for fear I will get lost. You've inspired me. thanks.

Awesome effort mate. I can relate to what you had to say in this video. I am new to hiking, and it has been a great experience for me. I am growing as I challenge myself. This weekend just past I completed my longest and most challenging hike to date. It was so rewarding, and I look forward to pushing myself further next weekend. Keep up the fantastic videos!

Hiking really is a bit of an eye opener once you get started. Glad to hear that’s it doing wonders for you too, thanks for your kind words!

Another good video Josh. One thing I like about hiking, is that it teaches self reliance. I like the feeling of confidence I have knowing I have the experience and planning to get myself in and out of remote places, relying only on myself. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to get back out there myself..

Exactly, the confidence you gain from solo hiking is something I didn’t realise it gave me until I started getting out there in my own. Being largely an introvert by nature I reckon it’s done wonders for me and can do wonders for others as well. Appreciate the comment mate, keep on hiking!

@@JoshCarrHikes Cheers Josh - I hope to start again soonish when my little boy is a bit older. In America, there is a Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hike, and there is a hotel in the middle of it somewhere called Phantom Ranch, that is only accessible by boat or by hikers. I'd love to do it one day and stay overnight there. I don't think it's all that far.

@@DjClarky78 Having a young one would certainly put things on a hold for a bit. That sounds like the dream! Would love to see the Grand Canyon one day, let alone do a hike like that in the area.

@@JoshCarrHikes Yes, it certainly did. He's 3 and a half now. Me and the wife were hiking the Bibbulmun before junior came along. I hope to start some short walks and overnights with him (Camel farm to Hewitts Hill) in the next year or two. Can't wait to get back out there. Yes - that Grand Canyon one looks awesome. It's a big world out there. Keep up the good work mate - I like watching the vids - keeps me motivated until I can get out there myself again.

Inspiring video mate. Most young fella's need to get out from behind the game paddles and experience the real world, they're missing out on so much, and you don't get those young years back again.

Yep, and that used to be me! Don’t get me wrong I love playing video games, but I spent way too long on them in my earlier years. It took me a while to realise but spending more time exploring and experiencing the outdoors is easily one of the best things I’ve done.

Thanks Anthony. I’m actually not sure as I didn’t do any research into that side of things. I’m sure it’d be pretty easy to find accommodation though as there’s a whole heap of pubs along the way

Fantastic courage and great "paying it forward" content for years/generations to follow. That screams that you have fantastic purpose and execution. Bravo, chapeau, kudos.

Good video I enjoyed it, I would also be interested in a short summary of each adventure/hike you do at the end of the video. Was it a good trail? can you camp anywhere? would you recommend it? what skill level is it etc?
@JoshCarrHikes
@JoshCarrHikes 4 жыл бұрын
Cheers, noted. I’ll try include a bit more info at the end of each video going forward. Difficulty wise it’s very easy, the only harder part so to speak would be the distance. Not sure about camping but I rekon it would be pretty easy to find accommodation if need be as there’s plenty of pubs along the way. I’d recommend it for those that are looking to do something similar to myself I.e push the boundaries a bit. Next time if I do it again I’d probably be doing it on a push bike though
