PUSHING THE LIMITS OF KITESURFING - RED BULL MEGALOOP 2023 - LIAM WHALEY

The Red Bull Megaloop is definitely one of the most EXTREME competitions in Kitesurfing, needing over 45 knots of wind in order to run the event. This event hasn't happened in 4 years because Red Bull have been waiting for the perfect storm. The competition finally took place on the 19th of September 2023 in Zandvoort, Netherlands and It was one hell of a show!

I have heard you can loop the rebel more aggressive (lower) than the dlap. Hope this helps.

liams kite was going way lower.. the dlab kites loop very tight and it should be scored less in this event but andrea gets a higher score for no reason

Didn’t think the double was that extreme compared to the low megaloop of Liam, but hey, it’s a judge sport so opinions can differ. Although I think if riders knew that a (rather ordinary) double loop would outscore a low megaloop during the RB Megaloop with rotations, different choices would have been made.
