+R o n n o c not particularly but many have the ECU remapped to bring the cam change in at lower revs which much help. Miss the screaming nature of this engine!

This is gonna be my next car. I am not only excited to own one, but also to force all my tall/overwight friends to get in and out of it. Nice video.

Is it expensive? I see prices go from $30,000 all the way to $73,000 just for the Elise (used of course).

Could the Lotus reach top speed? Must be the S Version... I drove the without S version... I love this ultimate tool in agility... :-) Is more a track car than my GT86 :-) Cool video by the way :-)

Artalos Hit around an indicated 153mph which is pretty much exactly the top speed Lotus claims! It's the 111R which is the same 1.8 Toyota engine from the non-supercharged Exige :)

@@ultimateroadtrips notice you have GPS running on your phone. Is 153MPH from the GPS app or speedometer?

عراقي وافتخر yes and so do an awful lot of cars that can go faster in a straight line than an Elise with a naturally aspirated 1.8ltr engine. That's not the point of an Elise or exige series 1 & 2, the whole point of lotus is to make a car that has the purist feel through the steering, is quick but that is quicker round corners than most cars. Not always about the straight line performance but actually the connection between the driver and driving that modern day cars mass produced can't give you due to size, weight etc and the powered assisted steering. I'm sure the Leon is amazing fun for a modern day hatch but unless you have driven an Elise, exige, caterham etc then you will never understand why these type of cars are so good.. and most instantly quicker than your Leon round a track or down country roads
