I can relate to feeling like you are just an extreme person, and feeling like this is just your "normal" way of living. For a looong time, I thought this is the case with me too after I started to take care of the little things in my life, taking care about having some sort of structure and routine, meditating etc. When for the first time since literally primary school I felt that my life became more moderate, still and normal rather than feeling extreme emotions all the time - I almost became scared of it, because it was so hard to adjust and just accept that not overreacting and not feeling so much is actually not a bad thing.

interesting - I've lost everything that I've consciously been grateful for - breaking your foot when you consciously appreciate them, sounds like the filthy universe at play - forcing us to be strong and to overcome... and I think that her sister being her polar opposite, damage her self confidence - I have no doubt that her sister constantly told Florence to get it together/get over whatever was upsetting her...
