How many lessons would I need to understand certain books of the Hebrew Bible?
@AlephwithBeth7 күн бұрын
@@pinniporker We start reading verses from the Bible beginning in lesson 17, and if you watch all our lessons so far, you'll be a lot closer to being able to read longer passages on your own. 😁

I have been dutifully following and reviewing your lessons from the start, and waiting in anticipation for the next. Your work is very much appreciated by me, as a 76 year old atheist. However, following along with the app Sefaria with it’s translation and commentaries may not be needed it provides further understanding. So does Wikipedia.

I just wanted to say, the Lord moved me onto learning Aramaic (don't worry anyone who is not into languages, I have a language/teaching background and am currently not working, so studying is my job), but because I started learning Hebrew with you here on Aleph with Beth, with no translations needed, this is seriously the best way to learn it. (Especially if you are from a country that usually only offers 1 language. But now, learning the Aramaic is so much easier because of the background/strong start I got by watching these videos. And if you can do it with your whole family, it is so empowering! Truly, thank you for all you do!

4:28 can anyone update me on how it ended up with אלף, אלפים the שלושת אלפים The way I interpret it is that it is one thousand, many thousand, and three thousand… The same goes for one hundred, two hundred, three hundred; and for ten, twenty and thirty. I sort of miss two, but I used to it so it is more of curiosity! I have already accustomed myself with the difference between ordering one cup of coffee vs two cups of coffee! …
