This works. I spent the 90s in a Metal band and this is the only way to kill the funk in stage clothes. For a full size load, briefly agitate liquid Tide, 1 to 1.5 cups white vinegar, and 2-3 drops (I literally mean drops, not squirts) of Dawn dish soap. Then add clothing to washer. Don't use more than 1.5 cups of vinegar. You'll risk smelling vinegar-esque.

i use white vinegar in the softener dispenser. i am concerned that there may be a negative reaction of the vinegar with the detergent, for example, if the detergent has a alkaline agent then the vinegar (an acid) would react making a salt, therefor cancelling each other out for cleaning. fyi, i have see in a few places about vinegar damaging the rubber parts of the washer and not recommended by manufacturers. but since i use only a few ounces i am not worried.

If you have a dishwasher with a clear lid, do a wash with clothes or towels that you have washed with soap before, but don't add soap. Instead, add a cup of white vinegar and you will think that soap was added as the water becomes bubbly. For towels this will help them absorb more water as well. For extra bonus, do another rinse cycle with just baking soda. Obviously, don't add vinegar and baking soda at the same time.

Anyone with a Speed Queen knows vinegar is a must for the spin cycle/drain issue.
@mswanson8197 ай бұрын
Can you elaborate? I’m looking into purchasing a speed Queen.
@vermontmike98007 ай бұрын
@@mswanson819 the one flaw with a SQ TC5 is the final spin cycle on regular loads or sheet cycle. The spin cycle is very fast (which is good) but the water pump is overly aggressive and continues pumping even when the water is gone which causes foaming. The foam comes out of the drain stand. If a little vinegar is placed in the agitator for the rinse, it helps prevent the foam.
