A Russian court ordered the seizure of assets of Commerzbank, Unicredit, and Deutsche bank. A St. Petersburg court has seized over €700mn of assets belonging to three western banks - UniCredit, Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank. The seizure is one of the biggest moves against western lenders since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. They have just seized very little portion of these banks like Italian Bank Unicredit 400 million Euros was sized which is just 4.5℅ of total asset in Russia which means 95.5℅ assets of just Unicredit bank is still remaining which can be seized by Russia whenever they want. One wonders if the Russian Attorney General's Office or the equivalent can request China to "seize" US and EU company holdings in China pending court proceedings over their illegal seizure of Russian assets. At the very least, the court action can stop or delay any transfers of money profits out of China until such time the Russian authorities remove any and all such liens on western capital assets. I imagine the Chinese could possibly also take those western nations to the WTO over the trade barriers and tariffs they've imposed on China in light of the Ukraine war, the same western nations have fomented, aided and abetted. This saga was clearly going to head down this fork in the road and it appears to be increasingly more fractious and diabolically complicated the more players it sucks in and attempts to intimidate. I wonder if that Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times " has been invoked.🤔🤔🤔🥴🥴🥴🥴
