Thing is, many of our younger generation already wallow in this woke rubbish (my son and of all his friends do, all brainwashed to defend it angrily). And it's many older people who want to see the back of it. Putin doesn't want older people, he wants young people, population sustainers. I've discussed with my husband and with a friend as to what possible country we could go to in order to get away from this extremist far left ideology. There are none really. All Western countries and commonwealth are ruled by brainwashed neo-liberalist politicians, all of them terrified of upsetting reactionary and violent minorities, those minorities demanding more and more special favours, while they continue to viciously condemn the very people who worked to build the country they live in. Putin doesn't want people who simply want to live a simple, quiet, unhurried life with just a pension to their name, and whatever money left from selling their house. He wants men and women to fill an army, to breed a future army. And those Russians who have lost a son or daughter to Allied troops isn't going to want a British or American or German, etc moving in nearby.

If the Scottish guy you are talking about is Jim, he's a primary school teacher, living and working in Moscow. There are a few ex-mllitary living in Russia, married to Russian women with children with YT channels. I went on holiday in 2019 - flew into Moscow with return rail ticket on the Sapsan to St. Petersburg - and loved my time there. Russians are lovely people, polite and respectful. Every one I met in the cities spoke English.

As a Russian citizen you get assistance at the birth of your first child as a married couple in the form of a one-off grant of around $13,000. Housing costs are very low compared with the west, you can buy a mansion for $200,000 outside of the metropolitan areas. There are communities cropping up that are mainly British, American etc., that you can gravitate towards if you wish and generally Russia is a very easy nation to live in with much less restrictions on improving your home, very, very low crimes rates and practically zero levels of homelessness.

I've very often said I'd move to Russia for many years now, I've always admired Putin and he's also had my respect. I'm too old now though, at 64 to take up his offer. I do still work and have skills but I'm due to retire in 2 years. I would encourage any young person however to seriously consider this offer, especially if your sick of this wokery nonsense. Learning the Russian language won't be easy, but then neither is learning over a hundred pronouns!

In the 18th century, Catherine the Great opened the doors for Europeans to emigrate to Russia to escape religious persecution and take advantage of highly fertile newly colonized lands (wrested from nomadic Turkic tribes) in what is today southern Ukraine and the Saratov region on the Volga river. 57 years young, I always say. I posted some channels up above of people that moved from US, Canada, Australia, with their families. Quite a few people there are no spring chicken, but they saw the writing on the wall early on and weathered all the difficulties regardless. Now, Putin is making this easier for those folks that are still on the fence for whatever reason. If not for yourself, you can do this for your kids if you don't want Johnny to turn into Joanne one fine schoolday. Not saying it'll be a walk in the park, though.

You are mixing two different things. Capitalism is economic model , while communism is social model. In communism , main economic model was planned economy with (mostly) state (people/nation) owned and managed resources. In capitalism resources are mostly privately owned . If you want to compare social models , than you can compare feudalism and communism , or feudal autocracy and communism , democracy and communism (though , it isn't so simple , because communism was kind of democracy ). I know that it is a popular outlook on the things , but it is very much (besides theoretical definitions) dependent on historic moment and particular country , or state.

As for the Russian language, it's no easier or harder to learn than any other Slavic language. Actually easier than some of them, such as Polish, which has more archaic case forms that have long ago disappeared in Russian, and written Russian is entirely phonetic due to the Bolshevik reforms of the Russian alphabet - whereas again, Polish is not at all. There are also languages in Europe such as Hungarian, Finnish, Lithuanian that are either more alien compared to English than Russian is, or have a greater amount of complicated rules. About 40% of Europeans speak one Slavic language or another, and for them learning Russian to a conversational level will take no longer than 6 months. But of course the decree is mainly going to target specifically the Woke hellscape countries; that's specifically Western Europe and the wider Anglosphere such as the US, Australia and so on. Well for what concerns non-English Western Europeans at least, they do have the advantage of being multi-lingual already - the majority of them know an additional language to their native one, so learning yet another one won't be as hard.

I have been dreaming about going to Russia and moving there for a long time, even before the special military operation ! This makes me seriously think about it. I figure I need to get my life together before and get me a course in something so I have some kind of skill to contribute to their society, like auto mechanic which I am already good at just as much as if I had taken a college course at it but I just need formal certification and a course in college to be able to make the place were I am applying at believe that I am truly qualified ! This has been my thought for some time. We have the right as Brits, French, Germans, whatever, to decide if we'd rather have our population decline or high levels of immigration. We have always chosen against immigration, but it's forced onto us anyway. That's completely not right in my opinion. Population declining would make things better in many ways. The problem is it would hurt overall GDP figures and that's what politicians really care about.

When you mentioned the smell in the antique shop I knew you were going to say something about your grandparents because I have had the same experience. By the way Russian is very difficult but what is true is Slavic languages have a lot of Latin words so my point is if you know one of the romantic languages you may have a leg up I know that the Cyrillic is not easy but it’s funny at first glance I see it and then I don’t it’s hard to explain.

Cyrillic is actually easy for me now because I tried to learn Russian a couple of times and I just spent about a month in Serbia, so I'm comfortable with that. It's cases that are the problem - genitive, nominative, accusative... (pulling my hair out). Funny you should say that about the smell, but what's crazy to me is I have visited antique shops in the UK and never experienced that about my grandparents, but the second I walk past one in Belgium I do. My grandmother, as I mentioned, was Belgian. She grew up maybe 10km from Bruges and would almost certainly have walked down that same street I was on. You can't tell from the video but it made me pretty emotional.

I'm already learning a second language. There's no way I'm going to be able to learn Russian ontop of that. I do think Russian culture is comparatively better than western culture at this point but it's too much of pain in the ass. The only thing that might make me consider it is if I had a Russian girlfriend that could basically baby sit me for a few years while I learn enough Russian to scrape by. Also it's cold in Russia and they have very short summers. That's also a pretty big bummer. The USA and Europe is pretty woke and is also being killed by immigration from the third world but If you live in a Rural place it's still an ok place to be for the time being. If it gets considerably worse in the next 10 years maybe I'll reconsider though.

Would be interesting to know what strings are attached. Is this measure meant to replace labor that's tied up in a certain special military operation? Meant to counteract the future population collapse? Casting a wide net to recruit espionage agents? Accumulate unwitting hostages for future negotiations? I was interested in Russia well before the war. I don't think learning the language would be that big of a hurdle. Yes, it's ranked as being harder than Spanish / French for English speakers from a technical perspective, yet, there are simultaneously many high-quality resources. You can get a professional tutor (B.A. or M.A levels, even) for nearly the same amount you are paying for minimum-wage services in the West. Or even free. What isn't appealing, though, is being a potential political pawn. It only takes one policy flip to deport / refuse exit of foreigners having, say, a US passport to make life get stressful real fast.

Your thoughts are precisely my thoughts. Some people in the comments are suggesting that foreigners would be sent to the front. Nonsense in my opinion. But you will replace someone in the russian labour force who goes to the front. Quite a thing to think about. Culturally I am probably more suited to Russia, but the possibility of simply being arrested and used for negotiations is pretty frightening, as you say. I am ex-military so probably pretty easy to convince people I'm a spy. You're right about tutors, but I still think the language is no doubt very hard to learn. I fully respect everyone's right to navigate the world according to their prerogatives, but from where I stand, fleeing 'woke ideology' to go live in a far more authoritarian and corrupt society isn't a wise trade-off. It was interesting to hear you weigh the mass migration aspect of this question, and to wisely mention the feeling of the host country's people, as opposed to the leader, is important. But of course, those feelings will be mixed, so you won't find a clear answer there. But to push this reflection a little further than you seem to have in this video, compare the motivation of the potential migrant in several of these scenarios. In terms of those coming to Britain, the types of economic hardships, and religious/political discriminations they may be fleeing in various degrees, appear far more potent and legitimate motivations than the mere disagreement with various socially inclusive practices you may take issue with in Britain. In other words, be aware that many could indeed perceive hypocrisy if you were to rush over to Russia, while remaining profoundly critical of mass immigration to Britain. Personally, I find rapid spikes in immigration to and from anywhere, to be problematic, because objectively, it is. My concerns have nothing to do with left/right politics. As such, my personal hope is that you become more motivated by the objective problem of mass migration (which would incline you to reject Putin's offer), than by the fleeing from 'woke-ism', or the running towards a traditionalist, but also authoritarian and deeply intolerant society. Britain's immigration problems are possible to resolve, and 'woke-ism' isn't half as terrible as it may seem in a vacuum, particularly when compared to being beaten and/or arbitrarily arrested and indefinitely imprisoned for expressing your political views. You are starting to have a few followers here: give them some healthy perspective.

Excellent comment, well written. I'm not naive to the contradiction here between suggesting we all move to Russia and opposing mass migration, as you point out. I think the cultural and immigration problems in the UK will not get better, they will get worse. The UK needs to either remigrate millions of people, or face a civil war in my opinion. The future looks bleak precisely because native Brits are being bullied, marginalised and berated constantly. We are told we have privilege whilst being put last behind DEI hires for jobs. We are told there's no money for social housing, but we are filling social housing with foreigners who have large families. No country can take this for long. In my opinion this will boil over into a Balkans style situation and it will be horrible, frankly. The only way to avoid this is to do what some people claim is cruel and to remove these people back to their country of origin. That's truly how I feel. Very complicated topic with who that applies to, I am not naive to that. Sweden has already begun implementing remigration policies since it became the rape capital of Europe (damn those Swedes). As for woke ideology. It will keep getting worse and worse and worse. I am not sure quite what the next point of insanity is, but it's coming. Bit of a rambling reply.
