Yes, Vijayakumar. Puttanna deserves Dada Saheb Phalke award,,, he was ahead of time. Perhaps he is best in India not only in Kannada film industry. The audience for Kannada movie is around 4 crores. However, all the 4 sides encroached by other languages. Bangalore is more of Telugu naadu than Kannada Naadu. The talent Kannada film industry had is perhaps the best in India .. This is what Jayant Kaikini once said. We love simple theme based high-quality acting -- unlike KABBALIDAAA.... and some useless stunts The sad part is nowadays movies simply a joke.. I only see movies released before 1989 in You tube
