The RT should’ve always stayed the top trim on Chargers and Challengers. The RT badge has heritage and weight behind it. Its pedigree.

RT used to mean something but it became the pedestrian car in V6 or V8 narrow body form. The rental car trim. Even for the trucks mines an SLT Plus, so its missing leather seats and wheel and two speakers from a 90s early 00s Laramie. Now Laramie is a tick above mid level. Even worse with RAM adding Tungsten now 😂 it’s basically just about the appointments and not the heritage.

@@scarrevan6311A supercharger is a belt driven "air pump" of 2 or 3 different configurations, all are referred to as blowers then there are turbochargers that are exhaust flow driven. The superchargers are instant punch when you hit the gas cause the belt is always turning BUT it can take 100 HP to turn the belt and the turbocharger needs to "spool up" so there is a small lag as power builds but doesn't take HP to run. I have had 4 or 5 turbo cars and if balanced right (size of turbo to cubic inch engine) there is very little noticeabl lag.

What a lot of people don’t realize and Dodge won’t ever advertise this, but talking to a bunch of different engineers. They say that the 57 is Dodgers corporate engine and it can take any modification that you pretty much due to it one of the reasons why you can run so much pounds of boost on it is because the walls of the 57 are a lot thicker than the other hem. Therefore gap in the piston rings and put a blower on there. You can actually get 600 to 750 HP

Awesome that it works. If he is fairly easy on it and doesn't do back to back to back runs at the strip it should be fine. Just don't do long hard pulls with that much boost without gaping the rings. @@midnight347 yeah...a freaking LN2 (GM 4 banger) can take 8 safely and keep going to 200k+ miles. 6 aint shit.

@@tehagent1321 you got your tape measure at the ready? What…. Are you 17 years old? I don’t need the most. My challenger in stock form will walk away from 70% of all American cars ever made. We can talk stock vs stock and your little 4 banger doesn’t play. I can tell by the way your offended you don’t own any of the aforementioned.

Like the built I would just beef up the internals and lower half and get a stronger drive shaft . Outside of that I like it I remember watching boosted lucky and he had the ripp supercharger kit on a 3.6L pushing 550 horsepower and his driveshaft snapped and the car caught on fire

Those little 3-6s feel like an older v8 when youre riding in one. They honestly sound good for a 6 too. I bet they wake up nicely with a little boost. (as ~550hp would indicate)

Interesting build indeed. I would be interested in doing something similar. Tuning would be a big factor in doing a build like this. I would like to see updates on this build. Other 5.7 owners would be interested I'm sure. I would start to upgrade the driveline (LSD, HD axles) and suspension.

drew at shophellcat in ft myers is who i use. i do plan to upgrade the driveline as needed but im going to see how long the stock suspension will hold first.

It will be interesting to hear how long it takes to burn up the stock pistons and rings.

For anyone wondering, supercharged 5.7's *usually* make around 550 WHP. I wouldn't be surprised if this one made just that.
