I took your guys idea and last month, I have a small 12 volt battery and have a custom mount that I fabricated, because the all of the compartments and airbox is cut off, I just have a K&N cone filter with a sock dust cover, and it works great, now I have a Baja Designs squadron pro front light and a rear tail light, and am ready to go to the Glamis Sand dunes for New Years Weekend! all thanks because of this video and because it re-surfaced on my recommended. but my Blaster looks great now, its a yellow fender, and black gas cover +black seat, 240cc, FMF fatty, plus minor mechanical customizations and now I can go night riding thank you guys!

That sounds like a pretty sweet and fast quad! Glad we can help!!

I was thinking the same thing stick a little battery back there run wire and out an led
@thescrapmetal28102 жыл бұрын
I wanna wire some leds to my factory switch but the oem stator on the blaster is less wattage then the leds I want but didn’t know if the stock stator would put up with it or if there was a upgrade.
@bossadamsgarage2 жыл бұрын
I honestly couldn't tell you if it could handle it or not. That's why we went with a simple switch and battery set up so that it was removable and so that we didn't mess up any of the factory wiring.
@ChuckNorris01Ай бұрын
So how long and how many uses do get with that straight battery hookup?
@bossadamsgarageАй бұрын
Since the way we ran the light seems to not have any battery draw, the battery didn't need to be charged for about 4 months.
@ChuckNorris01Ай бұрын
I see thank you I will also do the straight battery hookup. What did you guys do with the wires coming out the stator? Cut and seal?
@bossadamsgarageАй бұрын
No splicing into the stator. We ran a simple parallel circuit with a switch. The battery is directly hooked up to the light.
@ChuckNorris01Ай бұрын
@@bossadamsgarageyes I know but what did you guys with the wires coming out the magneto?

Where’d you get the light and mounts from
@krooked893 жыл бұрын
So you dint make a ground for it? You just wired the black to the battery and
@bossadamsgarage3 жыл бұрын
Nope, we just wired it back to the battery. We tried a couple spots to make a ground but we never liked where it was so this was the easiest solution for us

How are you recharging the battery?? That thing can't last too long powering that led. Did you run a field wire off the stator or something?
@bossadamsgarage2 жыл бұрын
Just hooking a battery tender up to it after/before each ride to make sure its charged. No biggie.
@That1E_K11292 жыл бұрын
@@bossadamsgarage the bar doesn't use much power? I just bought a set of nilight LEDs and was curious if I'd have to run a wire from the stator but if they're not using that much power then screw it I'll just use my little battery tender also. Thanks for the reply bud!
@bossadamsgarage2 жыл бұрын
Ya it doesn't use much. I'm pretty sure we've rode easy over an hour with the light on and it wasn't dead. We just make sure it's charged before we go ride.
@michaelpresey227311 ай бұрын
I actually did a test with a 18v drill battery on a light pod I kept light on for 1 hour and battery when you press button still said it was fully charged,

@@michaelpresey2273 nice man, I did an led swap on my blaster I had to wire a different rectifier into it to run the lights it let me keep the factory light switch as well which worked out pretty good

Blasters didnt come with a battery

But what charges the battery?
@bossadamsgarage3 жыл бұрын
Nothing, we rigged it up where you can easily put a trickle charger on it or just remove it and hook it to a charger. We just use a trickle charger.
@STGkilla86162 жыл бұрын
So did y’all use the switch ?
@bossadamsgarage2 жыл бұрын
For sure, worked like a dream with low battery draw. Used it for easily an hour and it never flickered or shut off.

what's the dimmension of the battery?
@bossadamsgarage4 жыл бұрын
Not entirely sure, but if i had to guess it was 4 inches by 3 inches.
@CalvinJ82 Жыл бұрын
But how is it going to stay charged??
@bossadamsgarage Жыл бұрын
This is nothing more than a down and dirty, charge the battery before your ride kind of set up. If you wanted to go more fancy you could wire in a stator charging system. We chose to go simple because we don't ride every day and throwing a trickle charge system on it the night before we go ride is very easy.
@CalvinJ82 Жыл бұрын
@Boss Adams Garage Gotcha, guess that was the part i was hoping the video answered. How to upgrade to LED and either run off stock generator or be able charge battery supply. Getting it done and focusing on riding, can't argue with that. Thanks for sharing.

Do you have to recharge the barrty? IF so, how long does it last?
@bossadamsgarage4 жыл бұрын
We charged it up one time when we first got the battery and haven’t charged it since. Seems to hold the charge in a long time when you don’t use the light that often

Ya you have to have the full FMF pipe and muffler or similar style pipe and muffler to get that sound.

Isn’t the battery going to die?
@bossadamsgarage3 жыл бұрын
Eventually it will and you’ll have to charge it but bc it’s used so little and there’s no draw on it, it will last for a while.
