you can put an aquarium bubbler into the buckets to keep the mix stirred. it looks like the top of your fluid is depleated but the bottom of the fluid column is still saturated. the zinc in the brass may cause that, idk.

@5:54 i put some solder covered copper ewaste into vinegar and it turned white. perhaps the liquid has separated out a solution of tin/zinc/lead/nickel ? resting ontop of the copper solution. they have different density i guess. if what i have learned watching omegageek.

I run a silver cell. Same concept. I however chemically purify the silver as much as possible prior to running it through the cell using nitric acid. The cell I have now is basically sealed and doesn't allow the electrolyte to evaporate. When I did have to replace electrolyte I replaced actual electrolyte and didnt just top it off with distilled water, due to the fact that you want a certain amount of silver sulfate dissolved into your electrolyte, that being about 160 grams per liter.

The stuff at the bottom is called anode slimes it's the impurities you can get metal out of the like zinc

Do you know if copper sulfate pentahydrate can be used? I live in California and regular copper sulfate is hard to come by here.
