Yes, thank you for making a video on fluffing diapers in the clothes dryer. People thought I was crazy on twitter when I suggested fluffing diapers in the dryer. I do it slightly different, I use heat for a few seconds (10-20), then I turn the dial until it clicks but continues to run (cool down setting, no heat) for about 30 more seconds. The diaper comes out slightly warm, fluffy, & ready to wear.

Try this: load five/six diapers direct from package (no need to unfold them). Add six wool dryer balls into dryer mix. Run dryer **120 seconds** at regular heat. [Tip: “heat” mode is 3x faster than “fluff” mode.] Result: nicely fluffed diapers with no hard spots. Caution: never tumble more than about three or four minutes with heat. Diapers will over-fluff, clump, then begin to disintegrate and leak SAP if run more than about five minutes in hot dryer! Tip: Tennis balls also work but are aggressive and noisy. Better shorten tumble time to 90 seconds or less.

I an honored that you made a video from my comment about this on one of your previous videos. I have arthritis in my hands and read about this method on a diaper forum. It worked well for me. I have found five minutes is the point of diminishing returns for quality diapers. I also found that it's not necessary to fold out the wings I currently have a bag of a printed version of the Better Dry, Crinklz Fairy Tales and dryer fluffed five of them for five minutes. I like to see the different ways people fluff up diapers. You don't always have a dryer available.

Hey, I did try this method with Crinklz (Same undergarment with a print.) I think your method of physically fluffing is best. I made sure the ones going in were physically fine. Just remnants of SAP when taking them out.

Great tip. Think I'll try it. Was wearing confidry before they went out of business and they always felt like a rock or a cardboard box or something. Just really uncomfortable in a way that made me anxious. Fluffing really makes a difference.

Yeah, it makes them more comfortable and even though they get a little thicker, it can make them more discreet too because since they aren't still, they are less likely to make lines that you can see under your clothes 😁

Very interesting demonstration. Can you tell me what is the size of the tabs on the diapers? The tabs on the diapers I use right now are only one-inch square and it is my personal opinion far too small for me, they should be at least 1 1/2-2 inches wide and at least 2-3 inches long. I don’t know just how I ended up here …but I can tell you one thing , I got 2 of these , as a sample , a few years ago , 1-3 yrs. And I never got to use either one , the first one just ripped them whole one side just before the tapes , and the second , just ripped in half length wise ! I was just in shock , it’s not like I’m jumbo 36” waist , n a large , and I used a bunch of other junk disposals, like megamess, and I found none of them worth the money ! So I have been using , rearz cloth training pants , covered in good plastic pants , or those contoured snap on , pull up cloth diapers w/ 3 soakers in them , and they just hold up fine ! For the money , if it isn’t cloth , it’s just a pretend diaper 😁

They do maintain their fluff, and perform better. I have been doing this by hand for years. It makes them more comfortable, and absorb faster. I flood my diapers because of my large bladder, so if I don't fluff them, they leak.

My experience is that according to ISO Rothwell, the diapers can actually only absorb 30%. I have tested and weighed it with different products, the Rothwell test is a big joke, like a crash test without dummies...

I tested a few at 20m in a dryel bag (not airtight, but no sap could escape). No damage to product, some fluffing. I guess I won't know until I wear them if it has any added value to a quick stretch of the leak guards and a lengthwise fold for channeling.

Make sure that you run them on a setting that doesn't use heat. On my dryer, it's called "air fluff". I think heat added to the equation would cause the diapers to get damaged.

Followup: I tried 4 more premium diapers in a dryel bag with similar results. I tried a few tykables overnight for 20 minutes (lost track of time) without a bag. At 20m they fluffed like crazy .. too crazy. A couple of them were very thin in the front. That's not great if you have a weiner. So while I never lost SAP into my drier, going overboard here isn't just diminished returns, it is negative returns.

Followup: yep, the ones where the sap moved away from my crotch are now effectively useless as a premium diaper; they may as well be a depends at this point, leaking at first flood. So... Don't over-fluff in a drier.
