Appreciate you showing the struggle! There's definitely ways to do it by yourself - One trick is to whip a bar nut on the stud loosely so it holds the uncovered bar while you tighten the chain. Then remove and proceed to gingerly put the side cover on (the chain tension at this point will help hold it all together). Also, I always tighten the large milling chains a bit more because they expand quite a bit, (especially if they are brand new). That and they get hotter for longer periods which tends to make them all loosey goosey after the first cut or so. Cheers!

I've found that using tape or rubber bands to hold the chain to the bar while installing the bar to the chainsaw works very well. No matter what size bar you are using.

Ok, I have to tell you that this was so entertaining! Thanks Jenna! OH, BTW, in the beginning when you took the old bar off, you were "loosening" the bolts, not "unloosening" it. If you UNloosen it, you'd be tightening it, right?😊

When you pull up the chain the tips of the drivers should be at the top of the bar rail. That is the rule of thumb I use for chain tightness. If you lay your chainsaw on its side it’s easier to mount the chain on a long bar.

always wear protective gear young lady gloves and a helmet, those big blades have long chains, keep your chain tensioned properly and use gear just in case, also those big chain saws got to have a decοmpration valve to help you get it started, and increase the idle little bit, will help to get it running easier ., also pump gasoline in the cylinder by the fuel nipple that this chain saw got to have. ,, keep doing what you do lady I enjoy watching you and your work, greetings from Europe Greece .. :)

Watch out, your side cover is missing the rubber chip deflector. The moment the chain jumps it will eat through the magnesium cover and cut into the fuel tank!

hallo jenna, here in germany the right bar is not bigger than the cc; that means.. a saw with zylinder 70cc has maximum a bar with 70cm (28 inch), most professionals do not run their saw with a bar bigger than 50cm (20inch). With such a 20 inch bar you can cut a tree up to 1 meter diametre. greetings and blessings from germany

I’m laughing because I know the pain, I treat them like I do a regular bar and chain it’s just a bit more awkward. I also just throw something under the front and just work it on with the chain super loose and put the clutch cover on and then fully tighten the chain tensioner. After watching this I kinda wanna see you fight with a double ended 72in bar with twin 2100s with outside chain tensioners 😂. When it comes to tightness I hold the saw up by the pistol grip and tighten it till the chain just touches the bar rails. And with a saw that big I like holding it by the pistol grip with the tip on a log to start. But great video and you’ll get used to putting that saw together ❤

Yeah actually super important to maintain a high tolerance of cleanliness on the “bar mount plates” otherwise oil pressure could be dramaticlly lowered, bar n chain start burning up, more friction, more heat, more wear. whole saw life is degraded

I say this is fun, tongue in cheek, so please let it be fun. If you're going to unloosen something you in reality are tightening it. To loosen means to bring slack into the situation. So, if we un-loosen something we take the loosen out, we un- it...unloosen. To undo some thing is the opposite of our original action. Tighten, original action; loosen, opposite action. So, if we Unloosen we tightening it. My grandfather taught me a lot about the words that we use, most often misuse. Not being critical at all. Just being amused by how unaware we are of our words.

Einstein said the dayvwe stop learning is the day we start dying. Try having the sprocket facing you & hold the bar halfway you had it at about the 3:30min mark. Also a squeeze sauce bottle with canola oil, run a bead of oil along the channel so the chain is sitting in some oil not a dry channel. No gloves, learn to use both hands & yes your feet as well 😂 when you blow the air filter blow it from the inside outwards, but check the air doesn’t have a oily residue as air compressors need to be drained. Have seen this a number of times in old air compressors.
