Putting My Flowerhorn With Other Fish?

Carson, you should dirt the tank while re arranging it. You can do research if you do not know or are not sure how to do it. Then you can add live plants to your tank, and you may have success with keeping them healty. Only if the fish do not eat them.

Carson, the water in the quarantine tank looks very strange. Maybe thats another reason why they act so dead in the tanks. I would recommend doing a ammonia test.

Oscar's are dramatic. When things aren't favorable, they sulk. This can be anything from a light in the wrong place. To just you being there.

The guppy is a female! Looks like she's pregnant too, so if she actually does survive long enough to give birth, the fry won't last long haha

When I add new fish I take out all the fish put them in a bucket together. Rearrange the tank and do a big water change. Then add them all together back into the tank.

I’m not so sure but I think Pluto might jus be a very high quality female since 9/10 a flowerhorn with a black spot on its top fin is usually female

when im adding new cichlids i usualy add a ditter fish or 3 fishes at once and turn off the lights to let them establish their territory. You can add more decoration to break their line of sight. This methods arent 100% accurate but it can help

@@ANTONl027 its not cause they have night vision its because when i turn off the light its time for them sleep and when they wake up they feel like that fish as already been there. Another reason is because in every tank theres a alpha fish and normally are the more colorful fish and when you add another fish the lights will intensify the colours and the alpha male will see that as a threat

Take the 2 fish that were aggressive put them in Pluto’s tanks put Pluto in the new tanks and after a week put the other 2 back in

Speakin’ of cichlids, how’re the hybrid fry? From what I remember, convict/parrot hybrids don’t actually look very much like “convict parrots” unless both parents are short-bodied. Even so, the color and body profile of convict parrots is more indicative of a normal short bodied convict with a mouth defect, so the chances are your fry will look like convicts and have an ever so slightly higher body, if anything changes at all.

When I got my new blue neon guppie to the fish tank with my other guppie inside . They started fighting for 2 mins until they stopped. Since then they have been getting along

Maybe try putting a few caves in each Corner maybe some flower pots to try to give them some places to call their own and they'll leave Pluto alone also black belts can be very aggressive give him his own space in the corner with a pot I think you'll be happy

Firemouths are such a roll of dice. Convicts you expect aggression but Firemouths, certain things just piss them off. I think it's certain colours. I added a adult firemouth to my established American cichlid tank. Being the last fish in, you would think he would be neutral but instead he bullied and nipped at everyone to the point where I had to return him. Totally antisocial and absolutely hated my blood parrot and severum. Challenged my eba tank boss as well. Didn't mind my buenos aires tetras or my juvie shark or my plecos (smaller, dull looking fish) but anything else with vibrance he absolutely hated.

I have a 55 gallon tank with my small Flowerhorn (approx. 5") and I also have 2 Firemouths in a growout tank that are about 2" each. I am hopefully going to move the Firemouths into the 55 in a few months. Is there any way to keep them alive?

I have a 10" FH. He was cool with all my other American Cichlids for about a year then he just snapped. My LFS has a 12" Oscar I wanna rescue but idk how it'll work put. I think my FH is just too aggressive.

No one bullies the flowerhorn.. I have a hybrid flowerhorn, one green terror huge size, black ghost, 2 tinfoils, 2 African peacock chiclids and 2 parrots.. The flowerhorn is the boss...he dessimated the green terror till he turned black.. Now I am going to keep him separate soon..

I have a flowerhorn in my 125 cichlid tank. My experience with it is the more cichlids the better! Keep your tank overstocked and everything should work out perfectly! Except for having to clean the tank wayyy more often, all has worked extremely well. No aggression whatsoever! Also want to add that my flowerhorn is around 8 inches at the moment. It may not work out for everyone, it depends on the individual fish and the personality, but my best advice is get that tank way overstocked and it'll be perfect. Good luck 👍 💓
