I currently have a flowerhorn living with 3 king kong parrots, 3 polar blue parrots, and two electric blue carpintis and everything has been going well. I kept them all in a divided tank for a few months before I took the divider out. The flowerhorn was on one side and the rest on the other. My flowerhorn is definetly the biggest fish and seems to really like hanging out with the King Kong parrots a lot.

I just lost 2 of my beautiful jewel cichlids to my flowerhorn I had to put him in my community rank due to emergency reason, he killed them off which is quiet sad. I have 3 different types of catfish in the tank which he doesn't even acknowledge is there. Just keeping fingers crossed he will let them live
@SGBeardedAquarist5 жыл бұрын
Oh no! Yeah flowerhorns will usually be aggressive towards otther cichlid species as well. Catfish are usually safe unless you have a maniac. I'm sure your catfish will be alright.

9 months in and no problems in my agressive American cichlid tank. It's a female though. I just bought a male and he's in my growout tank w my two baby jaguars jack and electric jack and green terror. The male flowerhorn is boss of that tank. So 9 months and 1 month in everything going well. Will update every few months

Man.. I have a 4 inch flower horn. He's always trying to bite my finger when I feed/clean the tank. He's bitten my skin pretty hard 3 times already. I just got a 100 gallon full of 30 barbs. They're pretty small still. But I hope when they're a little bigger they can be put together and all get along.. finger crossed! haha

my 10 inch flowerhorn ate all 12 of my tigerbarbs/albino/jade and is terrorising my 12inch lemon barb and both my 5inch tinfoil barbs, but somehow has never attacked my channa. Im thinking of adding an 8-10inch oscar but im worried they might not be compatible with one another. Thought and suggestions? I’d really appreciate it

If your flowerhorn was raised without being in a community, than this might be the problem. Because flowerhorns imported from thailand for example, are strictly raised alone (from what I heared) and by the time you put them in your tank without any other fish, he will not be able to get the skill to get along with other tank mates. So he will always be aggressive among other fish.

Is there a secret on getting Thanos kok so big ? I got flowerhorn trying to get his head big as well.
@SGBeardedAquarist5 жыл бұрын
The secret is...... the community tank. At least thats what i think it is. Because he is the boss of the tank with so many other fish inside, he feels extremely dominant and thus big kok. Thats why i call him King Thanos. Because he rules over so many other fish and has a big crown!
@riffsliftsandfishfan34015 жыл бұрын
I think good genetics is the best aspect for kok size. Want big kok flowerhorns, look for fry that come from monster koked parents.

SF90 Airton the turtle got him. I really hate how he has the turtle in the community tank. He basically drops the fish in knowing the turtle will attempt to eat them. If they survive,good for them,if they get eaten,he will just replace the fish. It’s pretty cruel in my opinion.

Hey bro sorry but looks like thanos lost his upper fin , what it’s called I forgot . I would suggest put in different tank to see his full beauty anyways it’s your call , but I must say since long time we have seen thanos and man he is hugeeeee now . His kok is massive . Still when new people will see your tank they would be woah how do you manage turtle , fishes and all . Btw since your turtle and fishes video , my turtle is happy with fishes since 6 plus months , he only gets pissed on them when they eat his food and runaway , the fish I had kept were tiger barbs and yeah they are super quick and another species I kept is roseline shark alias Denison barb which is native here , and they are like barbs super fast and big in size , he at start had chipped them , but later turtle adjusted and there chipped part grown back.
@SGBeardedAquarist5 жыл бұрын
Thanos upper fin lost was from the first 2 weeks. Made some mistakes while acclimating him. It's fine now but it just doesn't grow back because the damage was too deep. And your experiences are exactly the same as mine! Tiger barbs no problem, denison barbs (had them at one point) got attacked at first. They have this dot (or stripe) on their tail if im not wrong and i think it looks like a pellet to the turtle 🤣
@Mr.Sofishticated5 жыл бұрын
SG Bearded Aquarist Ohh no worries we learn from our mistakes , it was new experience and learning for us too , as we would never imagine turtle and fish in tank , heck turtle fish and that too with flowerhorn . Yep Denison barb has spot on them on tail . But they look amazing .
