Why not just put shade cloth over the plastic? One advantage is I can still work in the rain. I use scissor doors to open the ends all the way up that vents the heat pretty well.

My greenhouse plastic is cloth woven plastic guaranteed to last 10-15 years 12 mil from reef industries in Houston tx

I recommend clearn10-16 mil plastic woven from reef industries in Houston TX look them up I have a 12 x 48 greenhouse/ cold frame heater and two interior fans and one exterior fan

Hi Leon, I have put the frame up of a polytunnel on my allotment in Scotland which is on a hill and can get pretty windy. I am going to tie it like you have shown and learned the trucker's hitch to hold it down. Many thanks for your advice and expertise. 😎🌱

I love this! Does anyone use this in a snowy region? Do you get much of a season extension? We get tons of snow, so I'd have to remove the plastic for majority of season- but the middle of March I'd like to have something set up for putting starts outdoors early. We're up north about 30 minutes from Canada

For me when I stuck the hoops in the ground I just smacked some 2ft rebar in the ground about 2/3 of the way and stick the posts in the ground over the rebar

Got run a fan I run it 3/4 on high 16x7 dual ply 8 mm Monticello Greenhouse at night I run the De humidifier at 60% plants going nuts I keep an inline filter 8 in in there constantly running I'm trying to go solar save myself some energy at least I'm not running lights 👍 the rest of my 11,000 square feet of land has all kinds of vegetables and stuff going on outside second Greenhouse in case it rains to cover some stuff up one of my favorite hobbies good to see you Take care

How much overhang on the end should we leave to be able to loosen or remove wiggle wire to be able to raise the sides up? Ours is a 16"x80'.

On each corner of the house, is you take 3 or 4 foot of the wire loose, it will let you raise the sides up!

@@leonsloan7971 we did that and the wire is putting hole in the plastic..the smooth part of the wire. We believe we put the plastic on to tight and cut the ends to short. We also put our mule tape on (we have anchors 2ft inground with the hooks/loops on them like yours) and we think we have it to tight as well.

You could. Pacific NW you probably would. But generally heat build up will kill your plants. Besides taking the plastic off during the season and storing it extends the life of your plastic.

john mcginnis unless, the wiggle wire makes holes in the plastic, from taking it in and out. I know first hand that this does happen. Then you have to replace the plastic anyway.

@@pennynewell3459 Used to have that problem. I found if I put a sacrificial strip of plastic in over my greenhouse plastic then the wiggle wire I don't have that problem as much. It does make it harder to get the wiggle wire in though.
