I have a Workmaster. Love the value for the features you get on that machine. There are some adjustments you can make to resolve some of its short comings. The loader control can be rotated towards the seat more to reduce the reach required. Also you can adjust the steering stops to allow for a tighter turning radius. I would also put R14 or R4s on as the ag tires are very deep lug. I shopped for years and settled on the Workmaster over a Kioti RX mainly because of cab comfort.

Like others here, I'm a big John Deere fan - but it's really awesome to see the tractors from other brands. I can't afford to just buy one and risk it being a big mistake, but you taking a look through and actually getting to try one, helps give me the confidence to consider them moving forward. Hoping it's as fun for you as it seems like it would be :)

Very impressed with the lift capacity of that. I would think it say that you cut some wood and you have it all sticker together and it needs to dry. You can lift it up into some shelving to dry for storage if you build another Quonset hut lol.

I must say that the pucker factor went clear off the scale when you lifted those logs to full height! The higher you went, the smaller the tractor looked. As scary as that was, it was a good example of the capability of that tractor. You were right in stating that a person would probably never have to lift a log that high. There are just too many things that could go wrong. I still can't believe how high it lifted them! When I handle big logs with my 3046, I lift them only as high as needed to clear the ground and move. Keeping it close to the ground also lets the log act as an outrigger should the tractor start to tip, and they will tip! And the higher you go with the log, the longer it takes to come down and offset a tendency to tip. Can you imagine starting to tip with those logs twelve feet in the air? Well, thanks for that little dose of excitement this morning, Brock. I'm loving these tractor comparisons. Keep up the good work!

Brock, That New Holland is a very handy tractor & great size. To me its easier when brush hogging to do a cloverleaf at your turns to get everything. Im excited to see the lift comparison of the other tractors against that New Holland. Jenson Tractor Ranch is a great company to deal with.

Brock to help me understand, are you planning on getting rid of your skid steer? It would seem that would have all the lifting capacity that you would need for lifting logs. I have the same Sawmill as you and that is my Achilles heel, lifting large logs
@johnhelbig7110

When cutting, I make 3-4 rounds all the way around and then start mowing a straight strip down to the other end; then I lift the cutter, move down 20-30 feet and mow a straight strip back to the other end. I then cut back along my first strip and turn, and back down my second strip; so that I am mowing strips across the field without having to make cloverleaf or tight brake-assisted turns. We always mowed our hay this way and it made a lot of sense. PS, I’m a retired NH/Kubota dealer, but I don’t remember ever selling the Workmaster 55 cab tractors; my customers always wanted the Kubotas at that point. I think the Workmaster is made in Turkey, but I might be wrong, it’s been 6-7 years now.

When do you need more than eight feet lifting height?! When you're loading trucks... not pickups. A semi flatbed is already four feet off the ground. When you want to load a semi is when you're going to find that reach height satisfying.

Great tractor for sure! On cutting efficiently on large acreage areas….. always cut your edges with a small hydro tractor and a 5’ cutter and spin any trees or obstacles.. I usually do this a few days before I’m actually gonna cut the area with a big machine when it suits my schedule to do it. Then when you show up to cut the area with the big machine ALWAYS cut the headlands on each end of the long axis of the field a minimum of two tractor & cutter lengths. Once done only cut in the direction of the long axis and When you get to each end turn into the next cut path with a lazy turn ( not sharpe turn ) always moving forward and work your way across the field. When you get across the field you will be left with a series of strips. Then turn around and cut back over the leading edge that was mashed down by the right side tractor tires thus cutting Back against that uncut pushed down grass and covering your over lap working your way back across the field from whence you came ending up where you started. Then repeat. The main thing with using this approach is that you will NEVER need to turn around, make a clover leaf circle OR back up. The speed of the tractor is kept at the maximum for the conditions encountered and you will only make forward at speed lazy 1/2 turns for the entire field after the headlands are cut out. This technique will cut way down on your mowing time once you master it. Great video and super series on all the brands. Really looking forward to each one and the daily drop of your use of this and other machines. 🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍

Nice! Any updates on the bees and saw blade sharpening side gig? One thing about that 2900lb test is that you have the large log close to the pins. 800mm is 31 inches, so ideally you'd need to hang a sling on the forks 800mm out and lift both from there. If the combined diameters is larger than 31 inches then that will offset the larger log being closer, but I have no idea by how much (math... geometry...). The jungle website has 2200lb hanging scales available. With two of those and slings you could measure accurately how much those logs weigh. I'm wondering what the margin of error is for the log weight calculator and the variables in the logs.
@RockhillfarmYT
@RockhillfarmYT 3 ай бұрын
There’s probably quite a bit of margin for error. I’ll be showing the bees when it’s time to get Honey, but they are doing good

Mr. Brock; "point-blank" You NEED this Tractor. Reason # 1 it is the first size of a "tractor" that IS a TRACTOR. #2 is; there no such thing as the "perfect-Tractor"( in size ,capacity,or features). You WILL have the "Complete kit" if you keep your JD 2038r & This size New-Holland 50-70hp Workmaster, for your "Tractor Needs".

I’m impressed by how stable that machine looks considering the rears are not currently loaded. Do you know how much the wheel weights weigh? My 5065E that I traded in on my 2038R would be a fair comparison against this machine. The rear R1’s were loaded with 740 pounds of rimguard per tire (no wheel weights on mine) and it always seemed light in the rear when doing serious loader work even with an 840 pound box blade on the three point with a cat 2 iMatch. I think there’s a big difference in loader reach (how far past the front of the tractor the bucket is) when you compare a compact tractor to a utility tractor. That added reach is necessary due to the lift height on a utility, but it means you need a lot more ballast to compensate for it. Great video and I’m really looking forward to the rest of the hands on comparisons. I think you’re going to be getting a lot of new followers and making a lot of your current followers very happy with this series of videos. I’m sure you’ll enjoy making all of them as well. 🤠

@ricksanchez7459
@ricksanchez7459 3 ай бұрын
If you look on the steering linkage the stop has a spacer you can take out to tighten radius. The wheels are adjustable for width and that will change it too. Yup the FEL on these is stout! It's to bad you dont have a pto dyno or a way to compare hp because my seat of pants tells me they are on the higher side of the hp estimate.

Those Ag tires aren't doing you any favors with wet ground. Even with my R14's on the boomer 40, if the ground is wet, I'm leaving ruts. It's one big downside for me when I want to use the loader to move firewood totes around the property -- it's going to leave marks all over the place.

For your use case scenario totally agree... why would you need to lift that kind of weight to that height. But for someone like me, whose hay loft is 10 feet off the ground... it would be perfect.
