Great video. Really helped me out! Can I ask, did you join the straight pieces with butt joints or go to the effort of cutting the ends to 45 deg?

Great question. I had two joins and I actually used one of each type. Where the wall was straighter around the join I was able to join two 45s with minimal gaps. However one wall was quite curved where the join was so I went for a straight butt. There was still some filling to be done but much less than if I had used a mitred join

@@melvunderground3693 Thanks, that’s really helpful. I don’t want to over complicate it! All the best.

You are my hero! Thank you so much! I wasted an entire day following others instructions and the corners would never fit! I can’t wait to try this tomorrow!

There is some real sass here. I like it. You sound like you were done with how unusual this room is! Haha.

Is it too much to ask for one right angle? Just one!

Thanks this helped out a novice a lot! I have the same type of saw and was wondering how the cuts would work when it tilts to one side only. I owe you a beer. Cheers!👍🍺

I believe I have the exact same coving to put up, please god let it be the same and I've found the exact video I've been scouring the Internet for... is this coving from a brand called Noel & Marquet? It looks exactly the same as the one I'm supposed to be putting up but I can't get the internal mitres right. Going to use this method in hopes that it works

I have the same and I’m struggling with the same issue - what did you do in the end?
@Synthematix Жыл бұрын
There is a technique where you dont need to cut mitres you just slot the corners together dont know what its called though

Hello buddy, I think the crown came out very well, but I did hear from few carpenters that the more decorated edge, or your ceiling edge, should be the wall edge actually, so they'd say its upside down, Now..I'm also wondering does it even matter?
@melvunderground36933 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think I did it the opposite way round to the manufacturer's instructions but the right way round for Mrs Underground's instructions. I know whose wrath I'd rather avoid!

You seem to have the coving the wrong way around ! Less decorated edge should be on the ceiling.

You have a mixed American and British accent. Very strange.

Worst thing about this video, It sounds like a Brit trying to be American and it's making the video unwatchable.
