The engineers are real ones. Ask them about their backstory. Oh and approach them now and then to hear what they're talking to each other. But don't click the conversation button or you'll interrupt them and the conversation won't repeat. They have funny interactions

The first time you choose Advanced Training it lets you add the skill unlocked from your squad mates’ loyalty missions, like Kasumi’s flashbang grenade. Every subsequent time you choose advanced training it’s basically asking what you want to change it to. More become available when you do more loyalty missions, although I’m not sure why Zaeed’s inferno grenade wasn’t an option here, maybe he needs points put into it first before it shows up for you?

Back in the day, there was a comic on Tumblr about the med bay upgrade. Shepard gets his/her scars fixed, then asks Dr Chakwas why the upgrade needed so much platinum. The next panel then shows a giant platinum statue of her riding an elephant and carrying a caduceus, declaring her the Queen of Medicine or somesuch.

1:40:37 I don't know how far ahead you are of KZbin, but if you don't know yet: Advanced Training lets you switch out your bonus power. It's a partial respec mechanic.

Really enjoying the playthrough. Since you can scan/mine any/every planet, it’s usually best to stick to the ones that are rich when you start. There’s only about 3 dozen with element zero(No spoilers here, but you can look them up if you get desperate), but unless you’re constantly resetting your points/powers, you won’t need many. While I hate backseat gaming(saying what choices to make, where to go, or even how to play), it’s still good to know the systems so you can make that choice(a lot of older games still expected players to read the manual that came with them). I won’t bother with advanced stuff, but it’s worth knowing the basic Rock/Paper/Scissors system with defences. Characters/enemies can have biotic barriers, shields, and/or Armor defences before you get to the health(some powers are stronger against some defences than others, and some won’t work until defences are gone/down. But weapons work differently too. Besides different ammo buffs being effective with different defenses, slow guns are far better against armor while high fire guns work better on shields. And Yes, Unity uses medi-gel(they merged unity and medi-gel into an all in one power to raise fallen teammates while in combat and heal since health and shields both regen when in cover now. That’s already becoming a novel, so I’ll end this here. Watching a first time playthrough is the closest any of us can get to experiencing the game for the first time again, so Thanks.

I wouldn’t count this as backseating. I actually appreciate it a lot. I hope you continue to enjoy as they all roll out. Thanks for the quality of life advice!

@@teejay_live Thanks. I don’t usually consider game mechanics spoilers, but I’ve seen rare exceptions. I remember one streamer that was 20 levels into borderlands 2 without spending a skill point, and an infamous Fallout 4 stream where people were getting banned left and right for trying to tell the player 30 hours into his game that he must have missed the instructions for VATS(wasn’t choosing not to use it, he literally didn’t know it was a thing and was getting angry about attempts by the audience to be told the gaming equivalent of driving with the parking brake still on). Not that I expected anything that bad, but want to let people play the games the way they want. 👍

It is possible to get 20 out of 20. If you upgrade your heavy weapons enough, you get some kind of mini nuke gun (don't know its real name). Anyway, save up on heavy amo (takes 100 for one shot). Then go to the planet. Charge the gun up as you approach the site and fire at one of the robots. Instant kill for all robots, yet no damage to the crates.

Advanced training: As squad members become loyal, they develop different bonus powers. As Shepard, you can select which one of their bonus powers you want your character to learn. The more loyal squad members you have, the more bonus powers you will have to choose from.

So the Med Bay Upgrade is purely cosmetic, it just removes Shepherd’s scars so u can still look handsome on a Renegade play through. Some upgrades are plot relevant though so I won’t spoil it if u don’t ask
@asivfc60553 ай бұрын
For the three mechs, there is a weapon you have yet to develop that can kill all three mechs at once. So that you get all 20 out of 20 crates. It is, in my humble opinion, the best Weapon in the game. I won't spoil what it's called unless you'd like to know more. Shooting Probs can be fun to watch, if you visit the Sol system and prob the outer planets a couple of times. (Childish humor will ensue). Also, if you ask Joker about the mission and the people you are picking up, he will let you know if you still need to upgrade the Normandy and what he thinks of the people you took out on your last mission. P.S.: If you wait behind Joker for 10-20 seconds before you interact with him, you will overhear him talking about a lot of random things.

I don’t mean to backseat either but learning the health bar types and what works well against them makes combat much easier. Blue = Shields, weak to Overload, Disrupter Ammo, and SMGs Purple = Barriers, weak to Warp, SMGs, and Warp Ammo Yellow = Armor, weak to Incinerate, Warp, Fire Ammo, and Pistols Red = Health, no special damage properties here but enemies cannot be crowd controlled unless their HP is red Shotguns, Assault Rifles and Snipers all work the same on all HP types

Can't blame a person for not liking a hardened killer for hire like Zaeed.. but people tend to like him more over time and after ME3. And more over subsequent playthroughs. Not saying he ever reaches Garrus level but pretty much everyone eventually puts him above a few other squamates in ranking charts.

I tend to have very intense emotions about people with first impressions and then my opinions change over time (as I’m sure the writers intend). So I definitely do believe this. But for now…..

I’m more a fan of Heavy Charge personally just bcuz I like the extra shield regeneration plus the time slow is nice for landing extra hits on enemies like Heavy Mechs before u have to run and hide so they don’t melt your HP There are more upgrades you can get by talking to crew members, u just haven’t recruited all possible crew members yet. Also I personally don’t like the Grenade Advanced Training Powers, they’re difficult to get on target since they don’t home in like Shepard’s other powers.

The mining stuff is quite boring, I hear you. But I started enjoying them as a relaxing comedown after a heavier mission. Kind of like preparing food in Red Dead. I found the blandest parts those Firewalker missions tbh.
