Overlord is such a gut punch. I have a family member named David who has autism, so it always feels extra raw seeing how David was treated (by _his_ family) in the game, I always end up tearing up. But at least Shephard takes him away somewhere he'll be safe and looked after. It says something when the paragon option is to pistol whip someone!

I’ve never enjoyed punching someone with the fist of justice more. I have a family member with autism as well so I definitely felt a lot of empathy in this episode too :(

2:15:22 Pamyat system. Georgy Dobrovolsky, Vladislav Volkov and Viktor Patsayev were three Cosmonauts aboard Soyuz 11. When their spacecraft separated for re-entry, a valve got stuck open and sucked the atmosphere from the cabin. Their bodies were found when the capsule returned to earth. To this date, they are the only humans who have perished outside of the embrace of our homeworld. Vladimir Komarov is recorded as the first death in space accident. He was the test pilot aboard Soyuz 1, he fell to earth when his parachute failed to open after re-entry. The developers included this system as a memorial.

Great as usual. Just a quick piece of advice: Unlike ME1, ME2 and ME3 don't have hollow conversations. Here every "Investigate" option and left side of the wheel option adds something to the story. Don't miss them like you did here while chatting with Jack. There you had several options to ask her but you didn't, and those won't come again.

Thank you so much for this comment! I didn’t know this and I obviously don’t want to miss anything

@@teejay_live As a footnote, back when you decided you didn't like Mordin a few episodes back, there were lots of investigate options that explained his stance on the genophage better (rather than just his supporting it at face value). Given some of the more recent episode titles though, I'm sure you figured this out!

So if you research specific upgrades using Unity will restore your HP in a pinch and it also will revive any squad mates that have died in a fight. You do need Medigel to cast it though

Regarding the Overlord DLC: ... yeah, it's a big punch in the feels. I'm autistic myself, so are two of my three nephews, and the eldest is named David. When I finally convinced my sister to play the trilogy, the ending of Overlord was something we both found deeply memorable. Regarding talking to shipmates: it's worth re-asking the "have you got a minute?" conversation starter for all squadmates after each mission, and asking Joker how he's getting along with EDI. They don't always have new dialogue, but asking is the best way to find out if they do. On the down side, you'll quickly understand the memes about Garrus and his calibrations. My sincerest condolences. FYI, I know I've mentioned how Kasumi and Zaeed work in this game, but you might want to get used to it, because it becomes the default way of interacting with the squad in ME3. :-/

It actually makes me sad that it is the default way of interacting in ME3. I like dialogue options significantly more in my opinion. Oh welll I’m sure it will be still be great regardless. Also that memory with your sister is so beautiful. I love that you were able to share and relate to something together so beautifully through gaming, and more specifically, Mass Effect

So whenever you do a Loyalty Mission for a Squad Mate you unlock their 3rd power, Advanced Training lets Shepard learn one of his Squad Mate’s 3rd Power for his own use. You can use this to shore up your weakness or lean more into your strengths. You still need to invest points from levelling up to get ranks in this bonus power but you can redo the Advanced Training Research to switch powers as often as you want so long as you have enough Element Zero to burn. Just beware Element Zero is the rarest resource and u need it to upgrade your Biotic damage, biotic cooldown, tech damage and tech cooldowns too

@@ElizabethCooper-xl8wd he bulk recorded these last few videos due to taking a trip. He’ll usually read the comments and take some stuff into consideration but wants to avoid spoilers or backseating generally. I didn’t think my comment counted since I was just clarifying how the Advanced Training worked

@@teejay_live no worries man, the game throws a lot of info at you and doesn’t explain some stuff very well. Like there’s a whole power combo system that’s barely explained in ME2

A lot of limitations at this point of the game are less story related and more hardware related. Both Mass Effect 1 & 2 were originally Xbox360 exclusives. While the PS3 had a blu-ray rom, the 360 only had a dvd-rom and Mass Effect 2 had to be split between 2 discs. They did this by having the final mission and the early part of the game on disc1 with the bulk of the main game on disc 2. Once you’ve done enough early missions, things will open up considerably(it’s taking longer because of DLC content like Overlord). It’s a shame they didn’t tweak that with the legendary edition, because players using mods to take teammates on early missions where they normally wouldn’t be available yet have dialogue recorded for the missions still in game from before they made the change for the 2 discs. There’s a lot more choice once you make it to “disc 2”.
@teejay_live3 ай бұрын
Ohhh this is superrrrrr interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever played a two disc game in my life tbh and didn’t even know they existed. I love all of these little fun facts so thank you!

kasumi and zaaed are dlc characters so they have less implication in the story as well as less dialogues.

I hated this mission when I first played it. I hate the way it portrays autistic people. I’m glad it portrays the importance of us having autonomy but I just wish more autistic characters weren’t some type of genius savant 😭😭
