the weird thing is that the longest potential chain from the opponent is from the character nohoho with 11 chains, and not from rulue or satan for example.

To be fair, this is a home console port of the arcade game, with adjustments made to suit the console. In addition, the technology used during production is nowhere near as advanced as the technology used for Puyo Puyo Tetris, released around 20 years later.

You know tbh, Compile only wanted this game in japanese. That was until they shut down, and SEGA continued to carry on the Puyo Puyo series in Japanese including other languages.

What does Rensa Sibari do? I never used it

It is a feature where you don't start sending garbage to your opponent until you make a certain number of chains, for example, if you set it to 4, then you have to get at least a 4 chain to start sending garbage. Rensa Sibari is for 2 player mode only.

Mollz Mystery Of course it's from the game itself, the Genesis is not known for having a great-sounding soundchip (though the arcade version of the game is a little better), hopefully there's still some exceptions...

Mollz Mystery it’s the actual voice clips. That’s the “higher” quality mode by the way, there’s one that doesn’t stop the music but sounds worse (How worse? No gameplays use it so I’ll never know).

Music and sound FX are great (better music than PC Engine CD and SNES versions IMO), only the voices are kinda scratchy but it's partly due to emulation issues as it would sound better on real hardware. btw the Mega Drive has excellent sound capabilities, best of their time tied with SNES (but both vastly different).

psyance The voices were scratchy on the Genesis no matter if it was emulation or real hardware. The lack of the hardware’s low pass filter on emulation really doesn’t do any favors though

Extra opponents appear. But if u cant beat them too u get bad ending. U get kicked out of the tower.
