@@somevelvettmourning i agree with both sides tbh, its probably because me and the original commenter listened to this version first, fell in love with the lyricism, realised it was a cover, found the original song, and was taken aback by the stark contrast in the singers voice and expression, ik i was, BUT, i do really appreciate the original singers emotion and soul when she sings the song, even tho it may be harsh to some. i would say the production and the exectution of the song as a whole is better with PVA but i would say big thiefs version holds the emotion and the meaning of the song in a stronger connection between the lyrics and voice. i think PVA accomplished that with the music aswell however. (dont ask why i made this comment im bored af and took the opportunity to write a whole ass song analysis for no particular reason :> )
