Having started making bows out of PVC myself, I find myself drawn to the simpler longbow style bows more and more.

Tutorial is a must!!! Absolutely love the simple, functional bows. Seems similar to your Seminole bow which is my favorite! Please do a build along! Keep up the amazing work Nick!

Hey Nick! I finally got around to copying this bow over the weekend and it’s great! Yes it does stack a little but it does perform pretty darn well! I wish I had more friends who’d get into archery so I could make bows for them🤦🏻♂️😂

I really like the d shaped longbows, as opposed to the recurves! Really neat

have you ever tried making a pvc bow with not only one but two pvc pipes (stuck together however you want side by side)? it makes for a great bow, i've used duct tape as an adhesive but i was curious if you tried anything like it before?

how long would my 3/4 pipe need to be if I wanted it 40 pounds at 28 inches for this same bow buy the way great job on the snakey center shot that thing is amazing

Love the simple, functional bow! By the way, what arrows are you shooting. I made your Banded Krait bow, which by the way is excellent, and have found that 28 in Wolverine Arrows work well, but they are the only one I have tried. :)
@BackyardBowyer9 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm using 28" Wolverines on this bow as well!

tried making one of these but the limb caved near the grip, any pointers?
@jamesshields19699 жыл бұрын
Nick, how long was your pipe for this bow??? it looks a little longer then the Seminole inspired flat bow. I love it though, I made my first successful Seminole today and i love how it shoots, I've also been getting pretty good at making my own strings (flemish twist). Anyway, id like to make one like this you're shooting here if it's in fact a little longer. Please post something on the measurements. Thanks and it looks great by the way

Demonslayer842458 I also second that motion. The simple ones are the coolest. I'm in the process of making the bow for the medieval crossbow build, just finished the stock yesterday. takes awhile with only hand tools but its worth it so far. Going to use a hotplate as a heat source for the pvc bending.

@rcflite19978 жыл бұрын
what brand of pvc do you usually use
@BackyardBowyer8 жыл бұрын
+rcflite1997 I usually use JM Eagle for plumbing pipe, though I haven't had any problems with the other brands. Charlotte pipes tend to be a little more flexible than the others, but it works. I use Formufit for furniture grade pipe. Hope this helps!
@rcflite19978 жыл бұрын
+BackyardBowyer I had used some 1" sch.40 genova brand at a 5' length to make the hobbit bow and it came in at 55#@24" and is stiffer than and other bows ive made ill have to try to make a gull wing using it and see if it has the same problems and do some with the same brand of 3/4"

+BackyardBowyer u worry to much about speed and don't give much detail
@BackyardBowyer8 жыл бұрын
william gowan If you want more detail, check out the video I did on making a Seminole style bow. The only difference is the starting length is 48 inches like the gull wing video and the tips are a little different. It's basically the same bow, which is why I didn't do an in-depth video making the exact same bow in the gull wing video. There are also other parts where I show how to make the string and how to paint and finish the bow. Hope this helps! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmK0ZISCr5mho6c

I make custom bows and canes. You can view them at www.etsy.com/shop/yooper69499598?ref=hdr_shop_menu. Lot of cool things you can do with pvc. Thanks Nick for being my inspiration. I learned about this stuff back around 2012. First bow was a 1 1/4 inch sch 40 long bow.
