looking forward to hearing back from you all. I submitted a message a few hours ago regarding what products to use down here in Mobile Alabama. Challenging DYI job. I have probably watched 80+ hours of videos, with an emphasis on your channel and your products. Thanks again for all the excellent info.

A lot of guys just won’t believe it when we tell them PVC stress cracks in northern climates. Keep giving em proof! 💪

We were really cold this year in the north. So I'm sure there will be many more videos like this one. Come spring, the calls will be coming in.

saw a recent video of yours saying not to bury drain pipes etc in colder climates. THis one talks about freezing not damaging the components. Live in Denver Metro area, have your leaf guards & emitters, but not installed yet. would I have to run heat tape down from leaf filter to emitter?

I don't bother. My house in Michigan has freeze-ups all the time. The parts hold up to the freeze-ups.

Good morning. Can you please do a video of the best way to secure your pop up emitter to your 90. I'm concerned it's not a tight enough fit and will get sucked up into a lawn tractor.

@FRENCHDRAINMAN thank you, but my concern is not the pop up. It's the whole assembly. I have just installed 5 of your kits and noticed the pop up emitter assembly/turf restrictor is not a very snug fit inside the 90. My concern is it, the whole assembly, will get sucked up into the lawn tractor blades.

Is it OK if a section of the ads pipe is perforated? I did mine with a 4" ads pipe about 40' with a popup but the last 10' is perforated for leeching. It's got a decent pitch I think the deepest is about 20". In the North East. It's about 8 year's old and I see lots of water from the popup whenever it rains or thaws. Did a catch basin in the back and a zipper drain in the front where the side gate meets the driveway neither has cracks after some deep freezes, both with screens to catch the big stuff and all the roof shingle debris and easy to clean. I still have to do the other side to do but not just for the front and rear down spouts. I need to incorporate some yard drainage as well and I'll just pop up in the front lawn away from the house. Probably not going to do any perforated pipe on that one. ADS all the way!

@@FRENCHDRAINMAN Thank you. I actually had this video saved for reference. I did my drain long before I saw your channel. I guess I did a couple things right. To be honest, I didn't research anything, I just winged it and went with what made sense to me. The zipper drain at the midpoint intercepts the mainline and I guess that offers a decent enough vent for good flow. When I do the other side of the house, I will add more vents. It will be a longer run. I like the leaf blower method. I'll do that this year for spring cleaning. Love your stuff!

Don't they use PVC for runs to the sceptic tank?

Yes, the warm indoor temperature helps with heat transfer. That pipe stays in good condition.

Been having a hard time finding a contractor who will agree to install FDM’s product, they insist on Sch 40 PVC because it’s what they know. They don’t like it when I share the info I’ve learned here and elsewhere about the problems with PVC. Do you know a contractor who will install your product in New England? I’m in northern Rhode Island to be specific, but someone in Mass would be good too. Thanks.

I did. No luck. Seems inconceivable that there are no drainage specialists in New England. Only landscapers who do some drainage here and there. Any other readers on here aware of any?

All the PVC pipes in this video series are schedule 40 high-quality PVC pipes. If indoors, they would be in perfect condition; however, exposure to sinkholes and freeze-thaw temperatures compromises their durability.
